I've been crocheting for 15 years. I've tried every brand....I prefer a Boye shaped hook-- which these are. (Susan Bates just never really worked out well for me.) Anyway, these Tulip hooks are kinda pricey if you buy a set, so I've just been buying them as I've needed them. I pretty much only just G, H, I, J hooks anyway. (They're sold in metric sizes, so be sure to check. Basically, if you're like me-- you'll want the 4mm/4.5mm/5mm/5.5mm and possibly the 6mm. Hope this helps.
I have severe arthritis and I was hoping that these crochet hooks had fatter handles than the did. They would be perfect for someone whose hands are "normal", but sadly mine are not. I had to return them, but had no problem with that.
I originally bought these for my 22 y/o granddaughter to learn to crochet but when they arrived they were such cheery, bright colors and I liked the feel of them in my hand so I ordered another set for me. I haven' t used them yet but hopefully I will be able to find them when I am ready to crochet because of the bright neon colors. Two sets of other hooks are hiding in my house. My granddaughter is doing quite well with them.
