This is a must-have book for anybody who is learning to tat or wants to tat. It has easy-to-understand instructions on many different tatting techniques and simple diagrammatic patterns. It also has a great section on the history of tatting. While I love this book, it was shipped to me in a flimsy envelope. The paperback book suffered damage during the shipping process. When I opened the envelope, I was disappointed to see that the book was bent quite severely along the spine in several different places. As a result, the book didn't look new at all. It might have been a used copy, for all I know. I will not be purchasing any paperback books from Overstock ever again. I should have bought this book from a specialty lace shop because I know they would have done a better job with the shipping. Don't be a sucker like me and fall for Overstock's free shipping.
Don't be shocked by the small size. This book is packed with so many hints AND pictures. I can't wait until after the holidays to sit down and actually read it instead of glancing at different pages.
I found it difficult to find the precise pen or brush to use when they were all laying flat on my desk. With the Copic Marker case I was able to arrange them the way I wanted and as the tops of the pens faced upwards I could easily select the pen or brush I wanted to use next in my illustration. It saves time and makes the process so easy!
