I love this set. I love for my handwriting to look neat and am excited to learn the art of calligraphy and to learn different fonts and am excited to try and teach myself a hobby I have been wanting to learn. I recommend this product if you are into the hobby or art of improving your handwriting!
The table is solidly built and fairly easy to assemble. It features plastic joint shims that let you get frame screwed very tightly together with minimal fuss; just remember to start with everything a little loose so it's easier to line up. It also features an adjustable pencil rack, which is a very nice design consideration for a multi-use craft station. The only drawbacks to the table itself are 1) the tilt mechanism is a little fussy; 2) the castors are hard to install because they screw directly into the base, and the die-cut wrenches neither fit the nuts well nor provide enough leverage (and there's not enough clearance to finish the job with a regular monkey wrench). All in all I'd say the table alone is worth the price. The taboret, on the other hand, was a significant disappointment: 1) The drawers are made of fabric. This is not clear from the photos or the description, though it does make for a very lightweight product. 2) Unlike the table, the taboret does NOT have plastic joint fittings, so it's much harder to get everything lined up and solidly screwed in. 3) There is no bracing on the bottom of the metal frame, which means the whole assembly relies on the hard top to keep square. Four cheap angle brackets and 8-16 screws would've been all it takes to improve this roll-cabinet's stability tenfold. 4) The top is pre-drilled for screws that go up through the frame and just into the top itself. In the product I received, neither are these holes squared up and properly placed, nor are the frame pieces built to small enough tolerances to make this a good idea. I nearly had to try bending the frame to get everything aligned; luckily, after a lot of fuss, I was able to avoid that. Also, the screws are in my opinion too short, making the overall construction even weaker. These considerable flaws aside, I'm actually pretty satisfied with my purchase. The taboret is adequate for storing my calligraphy, art, and sewing supplies; the table is, again, a very well-engineered piece of furniture that I expect will serve me well for many years. At some point I may make a new top for the taboret, add angle brackets to the base, and replace the fabric drawers with proper hardware.
I cannot say enough about this crafting table. It has everything I wanted and need on it. At first I was a little hesitant to order because of the reviews about putting it together. But then I remember I have a husband that love a challenge of putting things together. Once he started on it, he had to stop because of other things he had to do. The next day after a good night rest, it was put together so fast I could not believe my eyes. So to say to everyone that is a little afraid to order because of the assemble, just be patient get a good night sleep and work on it only when u are cool calm and collected. I really do love this crafting table . I have so much room to put my art work and supplies. Also the price was very reasonable. Again I cannot say enough good things about it. If u need a large strong good crafting table don't be afraid to order this one. Don't let some of the reviews scare U off like I almost did. ( Listen to your inner-voice) That is all I can say. For those who has this product, I hope they enjoy it as much as I do. Customer: B. Link NYC
