  • Stylish and Comfortable, But.......
    Verified Purchase

I very much appreciate the design and elegant look of this dress shoe. The shape of the heel and the T strap are exactly what I was looking for. The down side is that the shoes arrive well wrapped in tissue and plastic bags in their box, but when unwrapped, they have an awful odor which I am hoping a good airing out will eventually dissipate. The shoes were made in China, and I have noticed this unpleasant odor emanating from other items that are imported from China. It smells like some sort of fumigant and I suspect that the chemicals are probably noxious if not downright toxic. In addition to the unpleasant odor, there was a smudge on the outside heel of one of the shoes. It isn't worth the time and effort to return the shoes when a bit of cleaning fluid will take care of the problem. It's a good thing that the shoes are black!

  • Solid heel for dancing, but sole not suede
    Verified Purchase

I really like the look and heel on this shoe, so I am keeping them. However, when I purchased them, they were described as a dance shoe. While the thicker, stable, flared heel is perfect for ballroom and Latin, the sole is not suede. It's not an overly sticky sole, and I suspect that these shoes will be attractive and fine for social dancing on less-than-optimal dance floors. I hope that the odor dissipates. Right now, they smell quite bad (perhaps from the dye used on the satin and then being wrapped in plastic. I'm keeping them because they are attractive and stable, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone who is looking for a real dance shoe for ballroom/Latin.
