I bought this for my mother in law, so she wouldn't take a header into the curb and break a hip, while walking in bad weather. I also thought the bright colors would alert passing cars to her presence, as she randomly wanders into the street. She didn't seem especially appreciative of my efforts, although she specifically requested an umbrella as a gift. However, I would buy this for myself. It's a great umbrella! Someday, soon, I may inherit said umbrella, unless she's already sold it to another granny.
Great umbrella. Reminds me of the 70's or 80's. My purse or backpack doesn't get wet, just perfect when it's windy also, won't flip inside out. Downside: can't fold up. (But who cares?)
Low priced umbrellas aren't made to last more than a season or two, especially if they are used alot. Clear material offers good visibility at crosswalks. Deep design is less likely to reverse in high winds.
