I was hesitant due to reading the reviews, but I did take notice when someone commented that the skit was more like a Jr. Plus and they are correct. I normally wear a 2xPlus and I ordered a 3x in the skirt and it fits famously!
This is a cute skirt. I like the fabric, and it's soft and flows nicely. Imo, the Black color and the length are the sole issues that might adversely affect anyone's choice for this item in general and in color choice. I am tall enough (5'9"), and it still runs just barely long on me with no shoes. (That seems to be a better way to describe length, as varied heel heights affect the look.) It has a foldover waist, which isn't pointed out in the description, so be aware of that. Even so, it runs nice and long like the photos show, so there is no worry about it riding high and skimming the ankles. If you are short, it may be an issue. Because of the pattern at the bottom, hemming wouldn't really be an option. It might be possible to shorten it at the waist instead, especially if you will wear tops that cover it. The foldover could disguise that, too. Depending on which color you get, the upper pattern may or may not be affected by an alteration at the waist. For some reason, at first glance, the Black looks dark blue in medium light; not black, as shown online. At first, it looked most definitely, absolutely blue against the black clothes I was wearing. I'm referring to the color field (not a minor detail in the pattern, but in the main color field itself). In brighter light, it looks more black. I can't explain that, but wanted to point it out anyway. If you need a long skirt, and precise color isn't important, I would get it.
