This is the closest I've been able to come to replacing my favorite pair of boots from the early 90s. They were a really refined Italian take on a moto or jump boot from a company called Tano (Broadway in the 70's in NYC). I've been looking for a replacement for years without success. I didn't think these were going to be the thing, and they're not identical but I am surprised how close they are. The picture doesn't do it justice. When it's on, and laced up snugly, it form fits the leg very nicely. That doesn't come across in the photo. Its a nice height, and soft enough that it doesn't have to be broken in. With one more lace hole in height, a slightly less perfectly round toe, a slant to the top edge, and no zipper, this would have been THE boot. (I know some people like a zipper for ease, but I think it's redundant. If you want a lace-up boot, commit to the real thing. A zip just makes the inside surface stiff). These will be my go-to boots until I find that absolutely identical pair. MEANTIME, SHAME ON WALKING CRADLES FOR DISCONTINUING THIS DESIGN! Why do companies do that?! They get a perfect style, then get rid of it. DUMB!!!! These should be to Walking Cradles what the Desert Boot or the Wallabee is to Clark's. They never discontinue that. Because they know they have a winner!
This boot is awesome for those who have wide calves! The boot laces up the back and is adjustable to fit any size calve. The boot also zips, but the adjustable back is what make this boot a keeper!
I love these boots, and you cannot beat the price. I wore them all day yesterday, and they were very comfortable, and I had several compliments.I would order these in every color if they had them available in my size. I love the fact that they zipper and lace-up so they can accommodate most calf sizes.
