I have been looking everywhere for a dress for my daughter's wedding. I am petite with a pear shape. I am not a person who feels right in strapless or low cut dresses. My body shape is not correct for such things. This dress is cut high on the neck without looking dowdy. There is just enough coverage over my arms, too. When you put it on, it looks almost like a two piece dress. The top part is very flattering. I wish the bottom had a scootch more room at the hips; but it has give to it, so it looks good, not tight. It is lined, too. There was a bit of static electricity which I hope is a winter thing; we'll see. I hope to wear it to my daughter's wedding in June. But if I find another dress I love, at the price I paid, I won't feel guilty.
I loved the dress, and recommend it highly. On me it was to small around the middle. I usually fit size 10 or even 8 in the knit fabrics, but this was far to small around the waist for me. The jacket was otherwise perfect, so a size 12 would be to big for me. So the fault is on me, not the dress which is beautiful.
I got 2 of these dresses for my bridesmaids after a grueling 3 months of searching. It was the exact style and fabric I was looking for. The dress is very pretty and true to the picture. I was impressed by this dress.
I bought this for my daughter to wear as a "going away" dress after her wedding reception. Unfortunately I had to return this dress and look for something else. The fabric is lovely, the color is rich and creamy ivory, and the silk is textured and drapes nicely. The overall style is very pretty and should be flattering to many body types. The dress failed in two areas: 1. The sizing is not accurate. The bodice and waist were much larger than they should have been, causing the top to gap in such a way that it would be impossible to avoid a "wardrobe malfunction". 2. The straps are either made of the wrong material or are attached improperly. My daughter slipped into the dress and as soon as the strap hit her shoulder it popped loose from the bodice of the dress. If the dress had fit properly, we would have considered just figuring out how to sew it back into the seam...but I'm not sure it would have stayed in place well because the fabric frayed easily and there wasn't much substance to the strap to sew through.
