I absolutely love this coat. It arrived yesterday and I was amazed that a coat that felt so light when I picked it up was so snug and warm when I put it on. The coat is luxuriously made and very versitile. I can dress it up or enjoy a long walk in the cold if I want to...because I can and will want to now. I just love it. It is by far the best coat for the money and guess what...I PAID FOR MINE IN DECEMBER...ALMOST HALF PRICE. WHEN I REALIZED THAT I GOT MINE ON SALE I WAS TOTALLY FLOORED. SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN 2. THANK YOU OVERSTOCK...WOO-HOO
Extremely well made and longer than expected, over the knees (the model in the picture must be several inches taller than me), which was a nice surprise. The coat is fairly light weight (not bulky) because of the down insulation. No extra padding is needed (thermals or sweater); the coat does its job perfectly! As someone who is susceptible to sore throats in the winter, the high collar solidly shields me from the cold and wind, and the large, removable, hidden-zippered hood and rib-knit cuffs help insulate and protect from inclement weather. The coat is also water repellent, another bonus. The only downfall…if I knew it was going on sale I would’ve waited and bought two (a friend really likes it), but I needed a winter coat badly. This coat is keeping me warm and toasty against harsh New England weather. 100% satisfied!
I'm 5'5, 155, pear shape. I usually get jackets in a large to fit a sweater under but I was afraid this one would turn out to be too big (and I was going to be unable to return it) so I went with a medium and am satisfied (even though a large might have been better, but honestly it doesn't bother me enough to not like it). I wanted a long jacket compared to my waist length North Face. My dislike are the cheap zipper and the short sleeves (right up to the wrist which rises if you try to raise your hand, so I wish they were a little long). Otherwise I really like the jacket. The military color looks great on brown skin. The length is right at the knees, not above, not below. I never button the last few bottoms because it makes gaps in-between each button (I think my hips are too wide) The hood barely stays on (stand no chance against the wind) and the feathers are always in your face so I definitely removed it, (overall I hate hoods anyways). Lastly, I think it's pretty warm (of course nothing compared to The North Face brand BUT this one is cuter) and the side pockets are great.
