I love this coat, I got the black version. The color is a true black, not a reddish black and not a dark navy, just black black. The fabric is a good quality, warm but not overly bulky but not cheep thin either. Very nicely tailored and well constructed. The lining is a quilted shiny black and matches the shell nicely. The buttons are metal and are riveted on securely. It was plenty warm when I was out in 20 degree weather. It looks good with or without the removable inner bib. If you take out the bib you can't zip up the coat anymore. It just does not work like that. The outer pockets, It has 2 not 4 (at least the one got did not have the upper pockets) They are very deep. I put both gloves, my keys (with a pepper spay can on them), my Galaxy 3 phone (in Otter box), and a pack of cigarettes (I smoke 100's) and Zippo all in one pocket and still had room to put my hand in there when I was walking, and it was not crowded. I could dig around to pull out what I was looking for without taking things out. The inner pocket is deep too, I just have not seen how much I could put in there yet. It would hold a thick checkbook easily and still button close. If you are leery about this coat because of the lower cost (I paid $**.** on Overstock.com) compared to some other coats. Don't be, this is a nice coat and a great value for the money. Now to point out the flaws on my new favorite Pea Coat. The sizes they have listed on the size chart don't match the coat. I am a chubby guy. 5'5" with a 42 inch chest, waist and hips. Looked at the size chart, saw I needed a Large or Extra Large (if I wanted to wear a sweater under this). I ordered the extra large. The thing was huge. Had a friend who wears a 46 put it in, he was swimming in it also. I returned it and got a Medium. Still a little big but fits OK, better with a thick sweater on. There was no Small available when I ordered. If you are or have a big guy who likes this style of coat but thinks he can't wear them because they never look right (my issue), This coat looks good and hangs right even if you have a gut. Several of my chubby/fat friends have wanted to tried it on and it looks good and hangs right on all of them. On a style note. My personal style is to wear a scarf under the collar hanging down either side. I got a 7 inch wide fleece scarf. it does not fit under there well. The color lays down flat in back and even this thin scarf was to bulky and ruined the clean look.
Another solid purchase. I've previously owned a butter-soft leather from Andrew Marc and do not like it because it's too prone to scratches. In searching for a replacement I came across this bomber and I'm glad I did!. The lambskin on this jacket seems different in a good way, more substantial but still supple and soft. The leather has natural lines, slightly thicker but again very soft. I ordered the brown color which was a nice deep dark brown, very rich looking. Also, it's got a cool lining... not the flimsy polyester stuff. It has this felt-like material on top and quilting on the lower half. Some other details of the jacket that I liked: the fabric that lines the inside of the collar, zipper zipped to the top of collar (came in handy when walking through windy streets of NYC), the pockets inside the lining (one of them was zippered-sweet) . I wear size 42/44 in suits and ordered a size Large. It fits really well. Slightly snug at first but after a few times of wear, it did give a bit. Overall, I wasn't expecting such a quality jacket at this price! I wish they offered this bomber in a nice tan or beige color. I would definitely pick up a 2nd jacket. Genuine lambskin bomber under ***, that's an awesome deal for this quality level. But then again, Overstock never seizes to amaze me as I've found some amazing values on this site. Thanks again!
Bought a medium for my boyfriend's birthday. He wears a 40/42 jacket but has a small 30" waist. This jacket fits him perfect, and the length is perfect since he's 5'5". He loves it. The leather is rugged, yet stylish. I would say this jacket runs slightly on the small side and is made more for a smaller, fit guy. He loves his gift and wears it all the time. Boyfriend is happy so I'm happy!
This is a great jacket, nice strong cowhide (similar priced jackets are usually Lamb Skin), has decent zippers (Number 5 YKKs, not the best, but work well) and the seams have a nice finish. This jacket tends more to the formal in length and fit, would work well with a tie but certainly looks great with a crew neck or Henley underneath. The stitching is tight and well done with no loose trim ends or over stitch. I am 5'11", 200 pounds with a 42 inch chest and this jacket in size large fits like a glove. The weight of the leather is thick enough to give it some weight and the good leather jacket heft I like when worn. The lining is a sheer smooth polyester that makes taking it on and off easy and also aids in movement when reaching up or bending the sleeves, allowing the coat to move smoothly over what;s worn underneath.
