I saw some earlier reviews and thoughts this will run small, but still ordered my regular size. It turned out to be too large for me still. I think the chess size for Small is 40 inches. The jacket and sleeve lengths fit pretty well, though the sleeve size is again too large. I like the design overall (with the racing stripes), and the leather seemed supple, but it will take too much work for my tailor to fix all the fit issues. I suggest you either order 1 size down or your normal size if you enjoy loose fitting cloth.
Quality leather. Great price. Size info on-line seemed to rate Tanner's sizing for Medium at chest size 43. I checked sizing detail with Overstock which listed chest size at 39-40. Overstock info was accurate. Very pleased with this jacket. The sleeves are a bit long but that is because I'm short. The snaps on the cuffs help to compensate. Strong leather smell when 1st recv'd., but this is going away as jacket is worn and/or aired out. Good jacket for cooler weather. Liner seems warm. Pleased with quick shipping from Overstock.
I had to return my original coat as the size I usually wear was much too big. I wear this typically over a suit and I went down from my normal 40 R to a 38R. That fits well. The quality is very good. This is the beginning of the first cold season test of the coat, but it feels very warm with the liner in and the look is great.
I have been a 2XL size for nearly 40 years. I recently purchased a winter coat by Caterpillar and intentionally ordered it as a 3XL so as to allow layered dress and it worked out great. After reading reviews on this coat and believing the one about sizing more than the other one, I ordered this is a 4XL. It is a snug fit with just a shirt under it and I would not want it any smaller. A 5XL is available but I would have concerns that the arms might be too long as the 4XL is slightly long as is. The zipper pulls are quite cheap and don't hang well on the fake chest pockets (it does have real chest pockets as well, inside and out) and are very lightweight. The snaps are of a cheap quality material. The stitching seems quite nice as does the quilted lining. The leather seems of very good quality and is very uniform quality. The chest pockets inside the coat a quite nice and deep. The waist pockets are sufficient though they could be a little deeper for larger hands. All-in-all the jacket is a very nice buy if you get it a size or 2 larger than your normal size.
