This dress feels wonderful on. It's a stretchy knit fabric and yet it doesn't feel cheap or thin. It's fully lined which makes it very comfortable since the lining hugs you while you wear it, making you feel like everything is kind-of held in, while the outer fabric drapes nicely. I thought the double strap thing on the top was a little busy so I dropped the "bra" straps onto my shoulders and stitched them to the "dropped" straps on the sides so they would meet in the middle and stay together. It made the top of the dress into more of a portrait neckline which I liked much better. I had to hem it a little and since the middle is ruched I just pulled it up an inch or two at the waist and tacked it on the sides which added another drape to the bottom of the ruching but effectively hemmed my dress without me having to cut anything. It is a great dress and was very easy to adapt.
The dress arrived sealed and wrapped well. It fits beautifully. It's simple yet elegant. I'm between a 10 and 12. I originally ordered the 12, but exchanged it for the 10. So if you're between sizes, I'd order down. It fits without clinging or being too tight. Looks much better than the picture shows. The jeweled collar is a soft gold, close to platinum color.
This dress looks like a potato sack until you put it on. This simple dress makes you feel younger. It drapes nicely and is surprisingly comfortable. A bit too much cleavage for me but, as one other reviewer suggested, it can be worn backwards and nobody would know the difference (don't forget to reverse the belt). You can wear it with the collar flaps in, or out, or any combination of that. The dress can be worn longer or short, depending how high you hike it up. If you've got the legs for it, wear it short! If you go for the longer look, the string black belt can be replaced by a long, skinny silver or gold belt, or even a medium gauge silver, or gold, chain. If you prefer the longer less-is-more look, remove the belt loops altogether. The dress is a bit see-through so you might need a slip. I am in my 50s (so getting a bit conservative), a size 8-10 (more often 10), and far, far from my 30's size 3 and toned figure, and this dress hides so many of my "imperfections" very well I don't even have to wear the Spanks under. Overall, very happy with my purchase and highly recommend this cute dress to ladies of all ages.
