I have short, wide feet with a high instep, so finding shoes that fit comfortably is a big issue for me. And the ones that do fit are often too expensive. I was so happy to find these 2-way stretchers! I tried them first on a pair of sandals that have always given me blisters. After using the stretchers for just one night, the sandals fit comfortably enough for me to wear them all day :) No blisters! The plastic buttons they give you for stretching problem areas are terribly cheap and flimsy, and some of them don't fit in the holes properly. That's why I only gave 4 stars. Also, word to the wise: the dark colored wood may leave marks on the sole of the shoes, so if you were stretching dress shoes with light-colored insoles you might want to cover the stretcher with a thin sock for protection.
Very well made and exactly as pictured...have been able to stretch two of my favorite pair of monk strap shoes that have been collecting dust since they were a little snug. They both fit great now. Definitely would recommend, especially for the price. Only drawback is that it doesn't come with the stretching liquid but I was able to pick that up at a local cobbler for about $4.
I ordered these shoe stretchers to stretch the width of my shoes just a little bit. They were a little awkward at first, but after getting the hang of them, I put them in a pair of flat leather shoes. I left them inserted in the shoes for approx. 4 days, and it seemed to work. I will need to try it again on a pair of leather sandals, that I intend to wear this summer. It will save me $X.XX for each pair of shoes that I can do myself, and I will pay for the stretchers with just 2 pair of shoes.
