TWO WEEKS UNTIL CHRISTMAS AND I AM DONE SHOPPING !! WHOOO HOOO ! FEELING EXHAUSTED FROM THE PAST MONTHS OF HUSTLE AND BUSTLE, I PLOPPED MY BODY INTO MY COMPUTER CHAIR AND TURNED IT ON. HMMMM, I THOUGHT, NOW WHAT DO I DO THAT MY SHOPPING IS ALL OVER WITH. I FELT A SENSE OF LOSS. AFTER ALL BUYING GIFTS FOR MY LOVED ONES IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS TO DO. I DECIDED TO GO ONTO "OVERSTOCK.COM" AND CHECK ON THE STATUS OF MY PLACED ORDERS. I GOT A LITTLE SIDETRACKED AND FOUND MYSELF ON THE MENS PAGES SCROLLING THROUGH THE MOST EXPENSIVE AND GORGEOUS NECK TIES (that I was unable to purchase for my husband). I FOUND THAT I JUST ENJOY PICKING OUT A CERTAIN TIE AND THEN FINDING THE PERFECT DRESS SHIRT , USUALLY PINSTRIPPED WITH FRENCH CUFFS ...(then I can buy a new set of cuff links for Mike). I HAD A WHOLE NEW OUT FIT , INCLUSING DRESS PANTS, SHOES AND A BELT FROM ITALY WHEN I SAW A PICTURE IN MY MIND OF A CHILDHOOD MEMORY. MY MOM USED TO TAKE MY TWIN SISTER AND I TO THE GROSSE POINTE VILLAGE OR TO THE "HILL" TO GO WINDOW SHOPPING . USUALLY IT WAS SNOWING, CHRISTMAS CAROLS WERE PLAYING OVER THE SPEAKERS AND THE LITTLE VILLAGE ALL A GLOW WITH TINSEL AND TWINKLY LIGHTS. THE STORES WERE OPEN LATE BECAUSE IT WAS NEAR CHRISTMAS. EVERY YEAR I WOULD LOOK FORWARD TO PEERING THROUGH GLASS WINDOWS AT THE CAREFULLY CREATED DISPLAYS OF CLOTHING ALL A GLOW WITH WHITE TWINKLE LIGTHS AND SPLASHES OF BRIGHT RED SCARVES OR TIES AND ONCE I RECALL SEEING A BRIGHT RED WOOL MENS BLAZER A MANICAN WAS SPORTING. USUALLY THERE WOULD BE THE MANICAN WEARING A DARK NAVY WOOL BLAZER WITH BRASS BUTTONS AND AN EMBROIDERED SCHOOL INSIGNIA ON THE LEFT OF THE LAPAL. THEN IT CAME TO ME ! I HAD NOT EVER BOUGHT MY HUSBAND A SPECIAL CHRISTMAS BLAZER TO TOP OFF THE DRESS SLACKS OF GRAY, THE HAND MADE ITALIAN BELT, THE CORDIVAN WING TIPPED DRESS SHOES, THE RED AND BLUE THIN PIN STRIPPED SHIRT WITH FRENCH CUFFS AND OF COURSE SPARKLING CUFF LINKS AND THE PERFECTLY COLOR COORDINATED TIE THAT I HAD PURCHASED FOR HIM THIS YEAR. I HAD FORGOT ...ABOUT THE GROSSE POINTE NAVY WOOL BLAZER THAT I WOULD SEE EACH CHRISTMAS PEERING THROUGH GLASS WINDOWS PRETENDING TO BE SHOPPING...AND HOLDING ON TO MY MOMS HAND. HOW COULD I HAVE EVER LEFT THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF A MANS DRESS CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY OUTFIT. THE CAREFULLY CREATED LOOK THAT MY HUSBAND WOULD SPORT AT EVERY VISIT TO A FRIENDS OR RELATIVES HOME FOR CHRISTMAS DINNER OR MAYBE JUST FOR HOT EGG NOG AND BRANDY....WITH THOSE HOMEMADE CHRISTMAS COOKIES DECORATED WITH CINNAMON CANDY , COLORED SPRINKLES OF SUGAR, TOPPING OFF THE WHITE CREAMY SWIRLING PUFF OF SOMEONES GREAT GRANDMOTHERS RECIPE FOR CHRISTMAS COOKIE FROSTING..RECIPE. I IMMEDIATELY TYPED IN "MENS CHRISTMAS NAVY BLUE WOOL BLAZER , GOLD OR BRASS BUTTONS, INSIGNIA" AND UP POPPED A PICTURE OF A "ZONETTIE-FERRECCI" DESIGNER NAVY BLUE WOOL BLAZER EVEN WITH BRASS BUTTONS! IT WAS PERFECT ! CHECKING OUT THE PRICE TAG BROUGHT ME SUCH JOY ...EXPECTING TO SEE THE UNAFFORDABLE, I SAW THE VERY VERY AFFORDABLE PRICE TAG OF JUST OVER $80.00 ..I QUICKLY SCROLLED DOWN , FOUND MIKES SIZE, CLICKED ON A 38 REGULAR, COLOR/NAVY BLUE AND CLICKED ON "BASKET" !! NOW, THIS SPECIAL GIFT HAS NOT ARRIVED YET SO CHECK BACK AFTER CHRISTMAS AND I WILL LEAVE AN UPDATED REVIEW FOR ALL OF YOU TO READ...MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM ITALIA. .JANET DELVECCHIO.
I was disappointed with the buttons. I currently have a blue blazer, but it has the brass buttons. I thought this one had darker metal style buttons; however, the look like cheap plastic.
I love the pattern design inside this jacket and it's inside color, and that is probably the only reason I convinced myself to keep it and just use it as a regular wearing jacket. The price and its overall quality and look (approved by others who viewed it on me) is just too amazing for me to return, even with my disappointments listed below. I expected a lot more from this brand, as I am a fan of Adolfo clothes and designs. Adolfo does great things. I was immediately disappointed due to the way the jacket cloth held/dropped itself. I immediately felt that the cloth was not dense enough or thick enough. I compared it side by side by my navy high quality blazer of very similar design, and I was surprised that the density of the weave did not visually seem different unless you looked really close (closer than 1 foot). There was just a very slight difference of cloth density between my very well done blazer and this Adolfo blazer, and there was also a difference in the angle the threads. Also, my existing great made blazer was wool. Ignoring the effect of the material used to make the jacket, that very slight difference in the cloth density weaving and/or its direction of weaving seem to have made a major difference for me in the way the jacket held itself. I think many other people will not even care about this and some may not even notice it. I also get the impression that this jacket might get wrinkled easier, but that does not surprise me since it is made from normal fabric and a slightly lower density weave (very slight difference). I had a couple of other people take a look at the jacket on me, and they both liked it, and complemented it. Now, I am going to have to find a matching pants, since the Navy color of this jacket is not true navy, and blue navy (meaning it is a lighter colored navy). I like the button chosen for this jacket. Matched up well, and done properly where they do not protrude out. When I looked at it in the mirror, I thought it fit well, and looked good on me. Overall, I know I am going to enjoy wearing this jacket. One problem I have had with my past wool jackets is that they can get eaten up by tiny, tiny moths if neglected for a short period, and I believe the fabric material used for this jacket avoids me that headache. It may be a good idea to get the jacket treated with a stain and water proof/resistant chemical prior to wearing it. If this was an option prior to purchase, I would have selected it and gladly paid for it.
