The pictures of this belt are highly misleading. It would seem to me from the pictures that the ends of the belt are tapered, this is the reason I selected it. It had a more dressy look that appealed to me. But he belt is the same width all the way through: one and a half inches. So it's just another clunky run-of -mill wide leather belt.
The canvas material is tightly woven and reinforced with trim on the edges to prevent fraying. At first glance, I thought the buckle and prongs seemed to be made of cheap, thin metal. The prongs can bend if you apply a lot of pressure, and I do mean a LOT. However, I can't think of a situation where they would ever be under a lot of stress. The eyelets seem very tight and strongly bonded to the belt. It seems unlikely there will be any issues with eyelets falling out. This is everything a canvas belt should be (not coming from a fashion expert, mind you). It is soft and flexible, but not stretchy, with plenty of strength. Also, it doesn't cut into me like other belts I have owned. It essentially feels like part of my pants.
