This is a great book for parents. Instead of the usual advice that leaves you saying from the very beginning "This will never work with my child". These are practical tools that actually work and you begin to see results very quickly in your child's temperment and the way he reacts to everyday situations that normally resulted in a negative reaction.

I started using this approach on my children. I have seen improvements in thier behavior in just a few short weeks. I recommend that if the traditional methods of parenting are not working for you, read this book and give it a try. It does take patience, there will not be changes overnight, but I have seen changes in a few weeks.

  • Too wordy

This book is too wordy. It is very difficult to read b/c it is filled with distracting italic and bold phrases. This leads you to believe those phrases should be paid more attention but in reality they hold no extra meaning. Also, there is an extra space between every paragraph which is also distracting. It is filled with boring analogies and metaphors rather than just being concise and getting to the point. I could not get into this book. No comments on their theories b/c this book was so unengaging I haven't gotten there yet.
