In this screwball comedy of manners, millionaire commodity brokers Randolph and Mortimer Duke (Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy) wager a bet that pits environment vs. biology and turns the lives of their two unsuspecting victims upside down. Eddie Murphy costars as Billy Ray Valentine, a streetwise hustler who gets dragged off the street and into the proper life of top Duke Bros. broker Louis Winthorpe III (Dan Aykroyd), who in turn gets tossed out of his posh townhouse and onto the mean city streets. The comic team of Murphy and Aykroyd is deliriously funny as they both struggle to comprehend their new lives. Billy Ray is forced to learn proper etiquette, manners, and business sense while uptight Louis scrambles to make it on the streets, befriending a prostitute (Jamie Lee Curtis) who takes him in and saves him from starvation--or worse. When the two innocent victims realize the scheming brothers' plot, they unite and devise a fabulous revenge to prove that their lives can't be controlled by the power-grubbing Duke brothers. The film features outstanding work by Denholm Elliott as the butler and Curtis as the prostitute with a heart of gold. Curtis especially shines in the scene in which she removes all of her hustler accoutrements to reveal her true looks.

The movie was one of the most classic tales of life; though extreme it was a portrayel of how rich play with the poor and how brains can over power braun and that information is key.

I ordered this version becuz it's 1:78 format & not 2:40. Also cuz of the bonus features that are listed for this version or release of the movie. However when I recieved my order & opened it to watch the movie. The DVD contained NO BONUS features what so ever. There is NOTHING listed in the menu that says BONUS Features & there isnt even hidden BONUS Features. All that you see on the menu is Play, Setup & Scene Selection. Also on the back the case it says this version of the release was released in 2007. However the disc says otherwise. It says released in 2006. It's like they took another release of the item threw the cases away & put the discs in this versions case & through out this versions dvds. At least the copies of the movie that Overstock has/has sent me. All the reviews I read on a very well known competitors site from users who bought this special edition version the movie that I thought I was getting as well mentioned the bonus features and they described in detail not just repeat what was on the back the case. Also The case had a sticker over the original UPC barcode and case' plastic that holds the coverart slip thing was very wavy and veiny looking. I gave this DVD 2 stars 1 for the movie and 1 cuz it's in 1:78 format. I can't rank it any higher cuz it isn't the product listed & what the case of dvd said is. If you don't mind 2:40 format then I recommend you get the OTHER more recently released version of this 1983 classic on here.
