I read this to my children when they were small, so I was happy to give it as a little token to my new Haitian neighbors for their firstborn little boy. Wonderful as a potential reader, so very beautifully illustrated, and hardier because it's a board book, this little gem by Ezra Jack Keats is more than deserving of its awards!

The book was for my 1 year old grandson. The pages are board so he can't rip them apart.

Can't go wrong with a Caldicott Medal Winner Book. It was a Christmas gift for my 2 year old great niece. Her Mom, who is an elementary school teacher, loved it.

Our 2 year old daughter LOVES this book. She insists on having us read it at bedtime every night. We originally had it in paperback, but when the pages got torn out, we decided to buy the hardback version, and it was well worth it. It is an entertaining story at her age level, and she often asks us if it is going to snow outside, even though it is Spring. The idea that this book has lasted so long, and was the first of its kind to look beyond race is extraordinary. As a caucasian family, I am proud to say this book is our daughter's favorite.
