As always overstock.com came through when no one else could--I got this book for much less than I could have on other sites that I also shopped and the shipping as always was very reasonable and the merchandise arrived promptly and in good condition. I am always satisfied with Overstock.com and keep coming back.

  • A way of life

This is a great book. I work in healthcare and it was recommended to me by more than one person. If I eat the Mediterranean way ie olive oil, nuts, fish, lemon, etc. I feel at my best. I actually lose weight without even working out when I follow the guidelines in this book. If you are going to use olive oil it should be extra virgin and if you are going to be eating nuts, I would recommend eating "raw" nuts and/or those without salt.

If you're looking to lose weight don't buy this book. It might be good for you but not to your waistline. I started to follow it and GAINED WEIGHT. Nuts and seeds are especially fattening and although I didn't eat much of them, it was enough to push my weight UP 2 pounds instead of down. Me, I'll stick to Weight Watchers. That is a healthy diet and you lose weight on it. If we ate everything we're told to eat to be healthy, we'd all be fat (fruit, nuts, olive oil, etc.). How can people eat so many servings of food each day as indicated on the food pyramid and lose weight or even stay thin if they are already thin. I'll be feeding all those nuts and seeds to the squirrels!!!

This book was recommended by our doctor. I am still reading this book, but am very impressed by the author's information. We are currently on this diet , have been for a short time, and we will be changing our eating and lifestyle, thanks to this book. This is the healthy way to diet and eat. Am looking forward to using the Mediterranean Cookbook also.
