A project book for all skill levels. Step-by-step pictures combined with detailed and humorous instructions keep the pace quick and the excitement level high. Steampunk look combines a Victorian-era sense of romance with a clockwork mechanical-ness. This book adapts those characteristics to polymer clay creations and offers projects that are sophisticated yet playful, challenging without being difficult. This eighth book by well-known author/artist Christi Friesen is her best yet!

Questions & Answers

  • Q:

"I see this word pop up more and more, what the heck IS steampunkery, is it a fad, is the stuff ment to be "unattractive"? shocking appreciate how it originated and answer to what is it? thanks"

    • A:

Steampunk has settled around taking authentic Victorian fashions and tweaking them in a direction that is more adventurous, and more self-expressive. A top hat may be adorned with flying goggles or laboratory goggles. Rivets or other hints of mechanism are used as decorative elements, especially clockwork and cogwheels, etc.. The term “Steampunk” was coined as a bit of a joke in the 1980’s and stuck, as a play on Cyber and Biopunk. r place.
