Chris Rock grew up in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York, and has been performing stand-up comedy for more than twelve years. Rock made his film debut inBeverly Hills Cops II; went on to star in CB4, New Jack City, andBoomerang, among others; and spent three years on Saturday Night Live. Nowadays, Rock can be seen in commercials for 1-800-COLLECT and is the voice of "Little Penny" in commercials for Nike. But he broke new ground with his coverage of the 1996 presidential campaign for Politically Incorrect and with his award-winning HBO specials,Chris Rock: Big-Ass Jokes and Bring the Pain, which led to his current late-night HBO show,The Chris Rock Show. His latest comedy album, Roll with the New, was released in 1997, and Rock continues to perform concerts each year to sold-out crowds throughout the country. He still lives in Brooklyn, New York.
The National Bestseller--now in trade paperback!

"Rock This! ought to be required reading for American citizenship or high school graduation." --Entertainment Weekly

From today's hottest stand-up comic--heir to Richard Pryor and Eddie Murphy and known for his Emmy Award-winning HBO Specials and The Chris Rock Show--comes this edgy, no-holds-barred humor book about race, relationships, and politics.
"Everyone wants a piece of the Rock." --USA Today
"Rock doesn't just make you laugh; he makes you think." --Vibe
"Unlike so many comedians' books, this one isn't a wispy flight through the land of whimsy. It's closer to a hip sociology primer, with direct hits on such subjects as the difference between white skin magazines and black ones." --Vanity Fair
"Chris Rock is probably the funniest and smartest comedian working today."

--Caryn James, The New York Times
