Daniel Tiffany is a professor of English and comparative literature at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where his scholarship focuses on poetry and poetics, critical theory, and the history of literary culture. He is the author of The Dandelion Clock, Infidel Poetics, and Radio Corpse, and his poems have appeared in journals including Tin House, Boston Review, and the Paris Review. He lives in Venice, California.

NEPTUNE PARK may be described as a graphic novel without pictures: an infidel pamphlet, a series of predicaments stirring up the kitsch of apocalypse. Its archive assembles a garbled voice--a verbal tranny--culled from a lost world of suburban squats, keyhole sex, teenage millionaires, queer idylls, and public shame. Composed as a serial cento turning disparate texts and sources against the sensibilities of their origin, NEPTUNE PARK develops a phraseology--a synthetic vernacular--veering from contemporary pidgin and biblical homilies to Mother Goose and Virgilian epic. At once degraded in its lyric appetite and Sapphic in its emotional and stanzaic compression, NEPTUNE PARK fabricates an allegory of dissolution, sympathy, and remorse: a vision of the general strike.
