"IS THIS REGION 1"
... obviously, since the network canceled the show after the second season. It had great characters and a whole different spin from most 'police procedural' shows. Too bad it was so much smarter than the network's target audience. Damian Lewis is great playing a detective returned to LAPD after being exonerated for a triple murder. Sarah Shahi plays his partner, her character has had some issues from an undercover narcotics investigation. The supporting "Characters" are definitely capital C "Characters". The recurring characters are excellent actors and the bit players are very convincing. It was more intelligent than the typical cop show, which may have been its downfall....
Life: Season Two (DVD)
ITEM#: 12047133While spending 12 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit, police officer Charlie Crews (Damian Lewis) developed some curious coping skills, including a Zen-like calm and a detached, quizzical approach to reality's many injustices. When he's exonerated and released with a bag full of money, Crews buys a big house, a great car, and, unpredictably, opts to returns to the force and use his new personality quirks to help solve crimes. LIFE follows this newly free detective as he investigates vicious murders alongside his edgy, outcast partner, Dani Reese (Sarah Shahi), and searches the streets for the person who framed him for homicide so many years ago. As Crews navigates his newly reclaimed life, he bumps up against the members of the force who remain unconvinced of his innocence. This collection includes every episode from the show?s second season.

I was a big fan of season 1, but I missed most of this season when it was on the air due to the writers strike that was underway at the time. (Why does the strike keep episodes that have already been filmed from airing?) Anyway, by the time the strike was over this one had been canceled, so this is the only way to see it. This season the writers kicked it up a notch and you learn more about the conspiracy behind Cruises framing. In the final episode everything comes together in an explosive finale that answers all the questions. Too bad there wasnt a year 3>Read More

A Short time on TV but a great seriesRead More
Even a few years after having been (indefensibly) nixed this continues to be one of the best balanced Police/Drama series ever produced. Not only is the premise interesting and intriguing, the characters themselves have been very richly fleshed and there is not one bit of over-acting during the two seasons the show lasted. Every episode was self contained and extremely entertaining; additionally each episode would add bits of pieces to the puzzle of why such calamity had befallen Charley Crews and who had betrayed him and why. I watched this show after it was cancelled on HULU +. No other series I have watched and enjoyed in the past even comes close to the entertainment quality this one imbued with. I found NBCs decision to cancel this show after a mere 2 seasons (a shorter first and a regular second) baffling. Even though I found this series head and shoulders above good shows like "The wire" or "Lost" , NBC saw its way clear to extinguish it just as things were white hot with the series. To their credit at least they did not just cancel it w/o some measure of closure ( the Canadian series INTELLIGENCE comes to mind here). Though forced it was at least a feeble attempt at an organized flipping of the off switch. This is one series well worth watching.Read More
Life is an excellent TV show following detective Charlie Crews who is recently exonerated from murder charges. He is just out of prison and ready to lay down the law and prove he was never a bad cop. He also takes the time to search for the people who framed him for the murder of his business partner and his business partner's wife and son. Life: Season Two dives deeper and deeper into the complex world of bad cops, mafia bosses, and city officials who used Charlie Crews (Damian Lewis) as their scapegoat. His partner Dani Reese (Sarah Shahi) learns to live with his "Zen-ish" lifestyle, and together they are some of the LAPD's best detectives. The only downside to Life is that the powers that be have decided not to continue the show beyond the second season. I highly recommend Life, and own season one and season two. I plan to watch them over and over.Read More
