      I have trained competitive bodybuilders for several years. One of the tools I have used is this book. I am a stickler regarding proper form when using free weights. The in-depth pictures help the athlete visualize which muscles are being fired during the proper range of motion. This book is also a great reference for modifications of an exercise, using various fitness machines and proper diet. I purchased this book at its' first printing in 1989, but I find that is still as relevant today as it was back then. My most recent purchase of this book was for my son when he expressed an interest in weight training. I would have given him mine, but through the years it has become so dog-eared etc. I felt he should have his own. Other manuals have good information, but no other book I have found has such a comprehensive take for the beginner as well as the experienced.
