  • ONE OF THE BEST

I have been listening to traditional jazz (that from 1965 to 1975) and have collected all the classics. I was however nothing but a Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Eric Dolphy. However, all these classic trumpet players get pushed back on this CD. What I call a "Hidden Classic". The remaster is better than the vinyl......hands down. We jazz purists of this era are enjoying the remastered versions, and some are much better for it. This takes the cake as the best. I was not a Freddie Hubbard fan until I read about this record on a ten best of all time list. I had to hear it. It delivers a masterful blend. The personnel were at the top of their game and deliver a classic top ten of all time (in my judgement) with power and knock out verve. If you enjoy classic jazz from this period, this Cd is as needed for your collection as say "Maiden Voyage" and "In A Silent Way" by Herbie Hancock and Miles Davis respectively. Buy it and sit back and enjoy Freddie Hubbard and company. It is an artist I avoided for a long time. A perfect blend of old style and the funk that started around this time
