      This is a great diet for anyone who doesn't like to diet. The 1st 4 days are a cleanse, but you get to pick from a list of foods. I only picked things I liked, of course. It was a little tough, as I was used to maybe 2,500 calories a day and this was 1,200, but I got through it. Then you start the real diet. You get 4 meals a day, 400 calories per meal. I have chosen a lot of chicken and seafood recipes, as that is what I like. They are very tasty. I also made the amazing lemon cupcakes on the cover of the book and they are great! I get one a day for one of the 4 meals. I need my desserts, which is another reason this is a great diet. There are recipes for snacks, meats, vegetarian, soups, salads, etc. The main point of the diet is a MUFA (monounsaturated fats) one. There is a MUFA in every recipe. MUFAs are avocados, olives, lots of different oils (safflower, sesame, olive, etc.), etc.. The diet actually cost me a lot of $$ to get started on as I don't have that kind of stuff sitting around my pantry! But I think it is worth it. A) it has gotten me to eat better (I used to eat like a 12 year old - tacos, pizza, chicken nuggets, etc.), but now I am eating more healthy like a 47 year old should and B) I lost 3.8 pounds in the 1st week. My goal is to fit back into the 20 pairs of pants I can't currently fit in and I am already fitting back into some! Give it a try! This book was cheapest on Overstock. Worst case, you decide it's not for you and you donate the book to charity for a tax writeoff!
