When this book came out, I bought multiple copies and gave them to all my friends and family. This reads like a Tom Clancy novel, but the horrific truth is that the bumbling of the various Federal agencies allowed the 9-11 terrorists to kill thousands. The information which each agency had (and refused to share with other divisions of the same agency, and definitely would not share with a competing agency) was enough to have EASILY stopped these guys dead in their tracks before 9-11. The failure to kill Osama Bin Laden on multiple occasions is documented here. (Even after he was known to be orchestrating attacks on US citizens and armed forces in various parts of the world). How the US Government agencies fell so flat on their faces is frightening. Everyone absolutely should read this book, cover to cover. Once you get into it, it really pulls you in, and you find yourself just wanting to PUNCH SOMEBODY for the idiotic mistakes and failure to act. All the puzzle pieces were in the hands of different agencies, yet they would not show their hands, and allowed this tragedy to occurr.
