This duvet insert is fluffy and warm. I switched from a comforter to a duvet insert to be able to wash it and/or the cover myself rather than having to dry clean it. I also liked the ability to change the look of my bedding with a new cover. Would recommend it.
After I receive this comforter, I was going to return it because it was completely flat and looked like it had no fill power in the boxes. It also felt very flimsy and too light. Just prior to deciding to return it I remembered that I had to fluff my old one by shaking at the corners and leave in a well vented room for about 24 hours laying flat so that the feathers would move around in each of the boxes to poof up. I had already set up a return before I remembered this process. The package should have had this information in it as it almost got returned. I'm sure others returned this item for the reason that I noted when the simple instruction could have prevented others from returning this or other comforters that lacked this information. Don't normally submit reviews, but I thought this was important enough to document.
I really like down comforters and this is my 4th over the last 10 years. The material is stiff and has loosened up over the last few weeks of use. Washing it would probably cure that faster as it is a 500tc. The loft is moderate. Not super fluffy but feels fluffy when you are snuggling up with it. Plenty warm and plenty big!! Pluses++THe quality of stitching look very good and no instances of feathers poking through at all, so I'd say the down quality is very good. Overall I'd say 8.5 out of 10. The baffle box design keeps the own and feathers in place, there is no shifting. The Down Comforter has a beautiful white on white stipe with luxurious gold piping which although covered with a duvet cover gives a regal feel. The Down Comforter kept the bed warm, but not hot. Surprisingly even some time after getting up to make coffee and jumping back into bed it was still warm. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looing to purchase a high quality Down Comforter.
I love this comforter. It was made really well with the 500 thread count and baffle box construction. Highly recommend! This review was written by a full-time Overstock employee. I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.
