There is a review on here that says if you don't like these sheets then you don't know good quality sheets. I'm going to have to disagree with that statement. These sheets are thick and very nice overall but they never soften up. I wash my sheets every week and after months they are still just as hard as when I took them out of the package. They also discolored after only a few washes and they didn't dicolor evenly. I have patches of lighter colors on my sheets. I also wash my sheets to according to the label and this still happened. They are warm but just not soft. There are better sheets out there.

I'm a big guy and the best thing about these sheets is the weight. These are a heavy sheet that stays put when I turn over. I've ordered sheets online multiple times and these are by far the favorite. Heavy weight but still soft and luxurious feel.

I have used Egyptian cotton sheets for years, but the 1500 count set is by far the best I have ever had. Smooth, heavy and delightful... The deep pockets are perfect for a deeper memory foam mattress, and to make things even better..... the pillow cases are larger and just as comfortable. If you've never tried sheets of this quality, do yourself a favor and spend the money. These sheets last longer, feel better, and offer a better night's sleep, isn't that what you want when you get into bed after a long days work...?

    • Egyptian Cotton 1500 TC Sheet Set
      Verified Purchase

I originally bought a set of these sheets in Cal King Medium Blue. I loved them so much that I bought two sets of the matching King pillowcases, and another sheet set and two more pillowcase sets in the Sage color. The 1500 TC pillowcase colors match the 1500 TC sheets perfectly, and are as pictured. Both Medium Blue sheets and pillowcases are a saturated medium blue color, although the Sage color is slightly less saturated than the picture on my monitor shows. Both Med Blue and Sage feel and look to be very expensive and high-quality. The sheets are very deep, and easily fit my 14 inch mattress with a mattress pad underneath, with room to spare. But People, PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH before you buy high Thread Count sheets. Don't give low reviews, or waste your money, simply because you were ignorant of what you were ordering. High TC sheets start out being heavy and a little stiff when you first open the package, but they soften up by washing and using them. The higher the TC, the heavier the sheets, so these sheets are heavy. Lower thread count sheets will be initially more pliable and more "airy" feeling, because there are fewer threads per square inch, so they actually are more airy since there is more air between threads. If you like light weight, airy sheets, get low TC or cotton-blend sheets. Initial softness in cotton sheets depend on the quality of the cotton used, and whether they have been pre-softened before you buy them. Having your sheets pre-softened means that they are usually more expensive, because of the extra time and processes involved. These sheets have not been pre-softened, so we are able to buy them cheaper than you would otherwise. Also note that all cotton sheets, especially higher TC sheets, WILL WRINKLE and take more time to dry! If you have multiple sets, which I recommend, fold the other set when it comes out of the dryer, putting your folded pillowcases between the bottom and top sheets so the weight naturally presses them, and put the set away. When you take them out to change sheets, the folded set will have lost most of the wrinkles. By alternating sheet sets, and folding the unused set, you shouldn't have to iron your sheets. If you are still unsatisfied with your minor wrinkles, or if you only have one set, you can iron your sheets if it really bugs you. These particular sheets are beautiful and have held up well after washing. They are exactly what you would expect from 1500 TC sheets, will last forever, and are far less expensive on the big O than elsewhere.

For a college graduation gift, we bought a new bed and mattress set for our daughter. We wanted it to be extra special so we bought her these 1500 count Egyptian sheets to go with it. She has mentioned several times how much she loves her sheets. Before purchasing these sheets we went to several department stores in the area and found nothing close to the quality of these sheets. They cost as much and/or more as these sheets yet they were much thinner and cheaper feeling. She loves the med blue color which we couldn't find anywhere else and she loves how thick and comfortable they are. She doesn't know it yet but we just ordered her the matching duvet cover for Christmas. We will be purchasing these sheets for our own bed as after seeing the quality of her sheets, it is difficult to be satisfied with our own much thinner sheets. In my opinion, it is well worth the extra money to buy these 100% Egyptian 1500 thread count sheets. What is more important than getting a good night of sleep? These sheets can make any bed feel comfortable and luxurious. One down side of these sheets is that they can wrinkle quickly if you don't put them on the bed immediately after they come out of the dryer, but our cheaper sheets are also like that.

      Verified Purchase

These sheets are fabulous. The difference between a 1500 count sheet and the standard 400-600 is dramatic. I now want to dump all of my other sheet sets and replace them with more of these. They almost have a canvas-like weight to them, but they are dense and soft , and they feel fantastic. To temper my enthusiastic rave, I should note that my husband can't tell the difference between these sheets and our other, cheaper sets. So some folks may not be impressed, but I am wild about them. If you are the least bit picky about your bedding, you'll be in heaven if you get these.

You would think that 1500 "Egyptian Cotton" means exactly what it says; however, upon arrival the package read "Egyptian Gotton". That is exactly what happened. I had been "gotten". Within three week the TWO sets of sheets I bought were fuzzed up so bad I could not sleep on them. These sheets had only been washed two times: once upon purchase and once upon use. When I returned them to O.CO I was gotten AGAIN with over $$$ in "re-stock" fees for sheets that were a piece of crap to begin with. I will never shop at O.Co. again.

    • A real disappointment! Buyer Beware
      Verified Purchase

I loved these sheets when I first received them! So much so that I ordered another pair. Then after a few months I noticed something peculiar about these sheets. The area where I sleep on seems to have developed pilling and is extremely uncomfortable to sleep on. I am extremely disappointed that this happened. I have a front load washer and dryer and followed all instructions for washing that were listed. I have bought sheets from Overstock.com for years and always loved them but this experience has made me reconsider my choice. Now I have two expensive pairs of sheets that I am wondering I can use for anything else. It did not happen right away so I assumed they were good. I am going to contact the company but I assume that it is too late to return. It is a shame as the color was vibrant and the heaviness of the sheets led me to believe that they would last a long time!

    Questions & Answers

    • Q:

"I want to buy a pair of these sheets but I am concerned about length of fibers. from what I understand it's not just thread count it's fiber lengths and how they are woven. long fiber cotton or (long staple) is best from what I understand. reviews seem to be great!"

      • A:

I love these sheets. I don' have a perfect answer but I do know after you wash them about eight times they are fantastic. Very soft and smooth feel. If you have trouble waking up in the morning or don't like getting out of bed don't buy them. You will never get up! Treat yourself, I am sure you won't be disappointed.

    • Q:

"I live in the desert and have read high thread-count sheets don't "breathe" and are therefore hot. Is that true? Would I be making a mistake if I bought these?"

      • A:

Since I live in the Northeast, I am really unfamiliar with weather conditions out there and their effect on breathability. These sheets are quite heavy, almost a lightweight canvas. I don't know if that helps any. For me, they are wonderful, but they are definitely not the soft, silky type.

      • A:

I live in Fort Lauderdale, and own 5 sets which I match to the bedding I would highly recommend you purchase these great value sheets. you will be very comfortable and greatly pleased with the product.

      • A:

These sheets are very heavy -- too heavy, in my opinion. As others have mentioned, they are more like canvas.

      • A:

I live in the Deep South and they do well for me in high temps with high humidity. But, they are a very heavy build and not exceptionally soft yet. I've only had them for a few months. They are comfortable and getting better the more I use them.

      • A:

I live in Memphis (hot humid summer). I bought these sheets and I only use them in the winter. They are much too heavy for summer.

      • A:

I love mine. Highly recommend them. I am getting other colors.

      • A:

I live in the desert and we LOVE these sheets. It;s the second time we've ordered them and we love the feel of them.

      • A:

I don't know about the desert but we live in the deep south where it is hot and humid and we absolutely love these sheets. After the first 2 or 3 washings they are so soft and luxurious and hold up well. I won't buy anything else.

      • A:

I need it to be cool to sleep, these sheets most times are all you need and on a cooler night an extra blanket. Sheets are cool and heavy but will not make a big difference in overall heat added.

      • A:

I live in a sub tropical climate in coastal south Florida. I highly recommend these sheets because they stay cool even in the summer months. Best sheets I have purchased from Overstock.

      • A:

These are very thick, not at all light and airy.

    • Q:

      "where are these made?what country?"

      • A:

The country of origin is China.

      • A:

China....I wouldn't recommend them...they had a strong chemical smell, and quite frankly weren't quite as thick as other 1500 thread count sheets...I was disappointed

      • A:

The country of manufacture is....China. There is a website on the tag. *

    • Q:

"Are these sheets egyptian cotton or just regular cotton? The description says egyptian but the material just says 100% cotton"

      • A:

They are long-staple Egyptian cotton and very comfortable, much heavier than regular cotton sheets.

      • A:

I regret this purchase. Sheets are heavy like canvas...nothing soft about them and I have never seen sheets anything like this.

      • A:

My set is labeled 100% Egyption Cotton. They are heavy and feel great and they do not pill and are not satin finish.

    • Q:

"All sateen sheets pill. So does that mean that the high thread count sheets that are sateen will pill too?"

      • A:

I have 4 sets of these sheets in our household; they are over 3 years old, and none of them have any pilling so far. When they were new, they were crispier... over time, they have softened from weekly washings, but they have only softened, and are still smooth and luxurious as ever.

      • A:

We own 3 pairs of these sheet sets and they are the most comfortable ones by far! We love the oversized sheet (I am 6' 3"). They are also very easy to care for and are as soft and smooth as the first day we bought them. They are now 3 years old. Heavy weight, but super comfortable. You cannot go wrong with these.

    • Q:

"How can I buy sheets that are not sateen? I was just checking out some sheets that did not say they were sateen, but when I started reading comments, I see where you tell someone that they are sateen. Why is that not shared in the details?"

      • A:

These are great, thick sheets. They start as sort of sateen, but as they get washed, they become more matte- like canvas. I'm not sure if a sheet of this high a thread count can even be made in something that starts in a non-sateen version. And it's not sateen as much as a new fabric sheen that disappears with washings.

      • A:

I absolutely love these sheets and haven't used anything else for years. They have never pilled and still get softer with every wash. I do not find them to be "sateen" at all, but I do find them to be wonderful. I also purchased sets for all of my family members, who stated what a wonderful sleep they were, when they they have visited my home for overnight stays. They ALL love them as much as I do.

    • Q:

"Can I order additional pillowcases to match set being ordered?"

      • A:

I have the sheets in sage and ordered separate 1200 count pillowcases in king size when I had ordered the sheets about 6 years ago. I just order this above set in sage so I use the previously ordered extra set of pillowcases each time.

    • Q:

      "Are there sheets wrinkle resistant?"

      • A:

They seem to be. We don't iron them and they lay on the bed flat.

      • A:

You may need to iron the trim on the flat sheet, but overall they do not wrinkle. They hold up very well.

      • A:

Wel left ours in the dryer overnight a couple washes ago and they did wrinkle a lot.... threw in a damp wash cloth and started dryer again for about 20 min and they came out nice!!

      • A:

No, not wrinkle resistant. I have the black and mocha/chocolate/brown sets. Very good quality, will last a long time, tough, but wrinkles will happen. With the use of a quilt or comforter, shouldn't be seen anyway.

      • A:

I don't know if they're advertised as such....but they certainly seem to be

      • A:

        yes, i love these sheets

      • A:

The do come out of the dryer without wrinkles.

      • A:

They fit a deep pocket king bed tautly, so there is no room for wrinkles. I do iron the pillowcases.... Hope that helps...

      • A:

They don't wrinkle a lot, but I do iron them. I guess it depends on how crisp you would like them to feel.

      • A:

They are my favorite sheets and rarely do I they usually fo from the dryer right back on. They are a very heavy fabric so while not wrinkle resistant, they do not wrinkle easily.

      • A:

100 % Egyptian cotton. Very nice heavy sheet. Not sateen which is hard to find. MEW

    • Q:

"If the sheets begin to come apart or tear after the first wash, what is the return policy? I assume there would not be a re-stocking fee or shipping fee if they are defective?"

    • Q:

"Are these sheets somewhat heavy & like a 'thick' cotton feel? I have a pair that I'm trying to find something comparable too."

      • A:

Yes these are very thick sheets. Initially I thought they were a little too stiff but after a few washes they turned out to be perfect.

    • Q:

"do these sheets have a warranty?"

      • A:

These sheets do not have a warranty but are superior quality.

      • A:

I bought several sets hat least 3 years ago. They are great, wear well, very smooth. They are heavier than a lesser quality sheet. I'm very happy with them.

      • A:

They are good quality- very firm sheets. So if you like soft sheets, these aren't for you. I love them but my husband not so much. They are kind of stiff/crisp (even after washing) I don't think they have a warranty but are made very well & should last a very long time.

      • A:

Not to my knowledge, but they are superior quality. Well worth the cost.

      • A:

What kind of a warranty would you be looking for? I've never even heard that question asked about sheets. Anyhoo, these sheets are fantastic, they are really heavy and extremely well-made. I will never buy any other sheets for the rest of my life.
