This mattress protector is a good value for the money compared to other types of mattress protectors. The cheapest is the plastic vinyl protector which never sounds or feels like sleeping on a regular mattress. cheap plastic covers feel and sound like sleeping on plastic and they always tear. This protector is a plastic product sprayed on a towel like material and it does not feel or sound like plastic. It is quiet and it does not shift like a plastic mattress cover. I was immediately aware of no plastic sound when sitting and laying in my bed when using this protector. .It is not thick so it fits well under my regular mattress pad and sheets. The protector is held on by a full sized fitted deep pocket netting material with elastic edges. It washes easily in cool water and I line dried it. I am quite satisfied with this product.
I ordered the Rest-A-Sure Mattress Protector after I bought a new mattress and purchased the protector they recommended. It was nice but pricey and I decided to check Overstock.Com to find something similar to go on the other three beds in the house. This mattress protector seems to be identical in features and quality at almost a quarter of the price that I paid for the orginal. I'm very pleased with the protector, we have puppies in the house and one of them christened it almost right away. I was very pleased to note that the mattress itself stayed completely dry and the protector came out of the washer and dryer looking brand new. It has extremely deep pockets and fits easily over the thickest mattresses so that it holds securely in place. I would definitely recommend this mattress protector since I've been able to compare it to a more expensive brand and just can't see why you would pay the extra cost for the same benefits.
Don't panic when you order the "King" sized and it comes marked as an "Eastern King". Apparently this is just another name for a regular King bed, as opposed to a California King. This is a very nice mattress protector at a great price. The sides of it are made of a "tricot" type fabric that easily stretches over my extra tall mattress with plenty left to be tucked in on the underside of the mattress. I hate it when a mattress pad pulls up and exposes part of the sides of the mattress, making the whole bed look silly. Or worse yet when it comes completely off and bunches up under the sheet. This one has plenty to tuck in at the underside so that won't happen. It has a soft thick terry top-almost like a velour top- that looks very nice and smoothe under the sheets on my King sized bed. It doesn't have that crinkely crunchy sound to it like some mattress protectors do. I'm very pleased with this purchase. I am going to buy more for the other beds in my house. You won't be disappointed with this purchase.
My husband and I do not have babies and I am not pregnant, so I wasn't looking for those thick plastic water proof mattress covers. All I wanted was something thin and breathable that is comfortable to sleep on but provides a little bit of water-proofing for my husband who has a tendency to sweat a lot in his sleep. I didn't want to have to worry about our mattress getting gross and stained with sweat, but I didn't want him to be even hotter by the non-breathable kind of protectors. This one served just the purpose! When it arrived I was a bit skeptical. But when I put it over our mattress, and topped it with our usual sheets, I was happy that I didn't feel hot, and it wasn't making any uncomfortable plasticy sounds when we move on the bed. My mind is at ease to feel that the next time he ends up sweating in his sleep, I can just snatch all the bedding along with this mattress protector and wash them all! Now that issue is out of the picture, I am off to hunting for moisture-wicking sheets : )
The Rest-a-sure Mattress Protector is an excellent product. Besides serving as a mattress protector it can also be used to cover the mattress cover since it is lined with terry cloth. It definitely protects and it washes well. Very satisfied with t his product
Recently purshased a Rest-A-Sure Mattress Protector in a Cal King size, for my new Cal King mattress. The mattress protector fits my pillow top Cal-King mattress perfectly. My potty trained 2 year had an accident on the bed 2 days later. Thankfully, the Mattress Protector works great! The urine did to reach the mattress at all. I just removed all bedding, threw it in the washer, and everything is as good as new. Love it! Great Purchase!!
This is a great mattress cover for kids. The terry cloth top is comfortable and lets air flow through while the underside is waterproof and keeps your mattresses dry. I love that it covers the whole bed and not just half or three quarters. My two year old had an accident the second night after receiving it. I put it in the washing machine on gentle and dried it on low. Perfect.
I ordered this mattress protector for a queen sleep number bed. It fits perfectly and has ample room on the sides to completely cover both mattress and foundation. While sleeping, there is no crinkly plastic sound and the short terry cloth pile is very comfortable. I am very pleased! Thanks O!
I have to say that I was completely satisfied by the quality and the capability (ie, water proof, terry cloth, breathable) for the price. Just perfect for a child's room
Fortunately, I haven't had the opportunity (or spill) to figure out whether this mattress protector is as waterproof as is claimed. However, I can say that even with a 4" memory foam mattress topper, this waterproof pad slips on without a problem. It doesn't crinkle or make those plasticky noises many waterproof mattress pads do. In fact, there's really no difference, feeling-wise, between this new pad and previous ones I've used. I have to admit that it's undetectable. It's also soft, with a terry cloth-like texture.
Fits king size bed well. Comfortable. Makes no noise.
I will start off saying that I had just purchased a memory foam bed when I ordered this pad. It appeared to be similar to the pads that Tempurpedic was selling. For the week before the bed pad came, I used a fitted sheet directly over the mattress. It was really luxurious. Then, the bedpad came and I put it on immediately. You CAN tell that this has a waterproof barrier. It makes a slight crinkling sound and doesn't really stretch like cotton does. However - to be fair, I'm not sure I would have been that in-tune to this had I not just enjoyed 6 nights without a bedpad all together. The mattress has a wonderful covering that's like suede on it... I have also not tried a more expensive bedpad of this nature. I've always had the quilted bedpads and am unfamiliar with the thin waterproof pads that memory foam requires. So, I don't know if something more expensive would be any better. I do know that if I paid $90 for a bedpad and it was the same as this, I wouldn't be satisfied at that price point. When I put the pad on, it was very difficult to fit the elastic around my mattress. I'll tell you, this mattress is a total brick - and even my sheets are wondering what happened to them. So, it may be that my mattress is just huge and it was a real strain on the elastic. Once I got the elastic around the final corner of my mattress (by squishing the mattress up the best I could), it fit just fine depth-wise. Also, some nights, I wake up feeling very warm in the torso area. Other nights I don't. I can't really tell you if it's the mattress pad or the memory foam. Though, the mattress I bought boasts that it dissipates heat... and I had no problems the first week with the mattress. I find it hard to believe something with a plasticky feel to one side of it isn't a little bit stuffy? So, maybe it's the combination of the bed pad and the mattress? Overall, I think that for the price, this really can't be beat. I had no desire to spend $90 on the name brand pad and thought I'd go out on a limb and get this. I'm not entirely disappointed and will continue to use this without seeking another option. If things heat up too much in the summer, I will probably try another pad. But I love a good deal - and you can't beat Overstock.com for deals on bedding!
I am more than pleased with this queen and king mattress pads I ordered. The price point for these pads were really reasonable for the quality of material they are made of. The top has a very baby soft topper and the elasticized sides fit very snuggly, they were made of a very good stretch material that could even fit a mattress with a topper. They do not make the noise that many waterproof pads can make. I am more than pleased with the purchase and would recommend to anyone.
I take care of a mid-90 year old couple and she experiences some incontinence problems. Her family and I have tried to talk her husband into letting us get adult diapers for her but he has fought this tooth and nail. She was recently hospitalized for pneumonia and after returning home, she wet the bed 4 times in the first 24 hour period. I ordered this mattress pad the very next day and picked up a pack of diapers that day as well. They have a 4 inch foam mattress (also purchased through overstock-another great product) and getting the urine out of it, not to mention the endless washing I had to do, precipitated those purchases. The mattress pad is great with very deep pockets which went right over the mattress and the foam pad with ease. As far as the protection aspect of this product, we may never know because once we put her in the diapers, her husband decided they WERE a great idea after all. It is great to know though we have the protection if needed. Who knows he is 95 and may face the same incontinence problems as well someday. And I'll be prepared!
I needed a low cost mattress cover for my daughter's full size futon bed - this was exactly what I wanted. Good price, fits great and we don't hear that "plastic rustling" you can with other types of waterproof covers. I'm hoping to pick up some more for the twin beds in the house - you never know when you should have one in place !!
This mattress pad exceeds my expectations! The pockets are deep and the pad is very comfortable. A great bargain for the price!
I was very pleased with the easy fit on my 17" mattress. If you use the deep pocket sheets, this one will be what you need. So many fit too tight and don't stay put. this has full elastic edges and was so easy to put on. It takes a little extra care in the laundry as the back waterproof side will hold the water. You have to shake it around a bit when you remove it from the washer and I hang mine over my clothes rack to let it drip dry and then put it in the dryer for 5 minutes to soften it up. I would recommend this one to anyone who has an extra thick mattress.
As others noted this is thin, but it is described as a mattress protector not pad. I recently placed it on both of my kids' beds and thankfully haven't had to test it's claim to be waterproof. However, it does feel as noted in other reviews, with a terry cloth side and a rubbery/plastic side. It does not make any noise when on the bed and washed well.
I bought this a month or so ago, but I didn't want to leave feedback until the waterproof portion was put to the test. Well, recently my dog had an "accident" and no wetness soaked through to my foam mattress topper. I bought this mattress protector for that very reason because, otherwise, my beloved foam topper (which I also bought from OS) would have to be thrown away! The washing instruction on the mattress protector says to air dry it which takes a while for the waterproof lining to dry, but that's pretty trivial. At this low price, I'm probably going to buy another one so I can alternate. This pad has very deep pockets and is plenty big for my mattess and topper (around 14" deep/thick), so it would swallow a mattress that is less deep/thick.
A real value for a California King bed....it was purchased for short term use and so I did not want to spend much and the price was excellent...so far there has not been a test of the waterproofness, but comfort has been noted by the user - an adult visitor.
