I'm a quilt junkie: just can't seem to get enough of them, so when we upgraded to a king size bed I purchased TWO quilts for the new bed (and bought fabric to make a third!). The other quilt was purchased from an upscale department store and was significantly more expensive. Truthfully, there is very little difference between the two, in fact the fabric is a better quality (higher thread count) in this one!......I know there has been much said about the background color. My quilt is a soft white. When I think of off-white I think of cream, which it definitely is not. If you have a white bedskirt, put your mind at ease, they will look fine together. In fact, the various colors in the ruffles will have this quilt complimenting just about any room color. Be aware that the edges on the ruffles are raw - meaning the fabric is not hemmed, so you may occasionally need to trim loose threads after laundering......The hubby likes it -- it's soft and feminine without being overly girly....I have always purchased a quilt in the next larger size to make it appear like a coverlet. Unfortunately, with a king you do not have that option. I have a 15" mattress and it barely covers the sides. However, my much more expensive quilt is similar, so it appears it's a matter of adjusting your expectations: it's a quilt, not a coverlet.
Very high quality and one of my best purchases ever! Best of all this set is 100% COTTON including the internal quilt batting which is very hard to find This means the quilt breathes beautifully and won't make you sweat at night to sleep under it The fabric is very high quality, the weight is just right; possibly a bit warm for a hot summer climate at night but perfect for Spring and Fall and for an addition to the bed in Winter as well It also launders very well and I suspect it will get softer and even nicer with repeated washing and use What I am most pleased by is the beauty of the print It has a Vintage feel to it and is well named - it is very romantic and pretty without being too "sweet" I would call it charming, as another reviewer has said; I think that is the perfect way to describe it! As other reviews have noted, the background color is a warm pear / "antique" type of color rather than the ivory shown; the colors are soft and muted and just Beautiful! I'm incredibly pleased with this quilt set and would highly recommend it A visiting friend liked it so much they playfully teased they were going to abscond with it, when they went back home! (I'm actually considering buying them their own set as a gift) If you want it to drape further down your Queen sized bed then buy the King size comforter and you will probably be able to avoid using a dust ruffle This is an Excellent quality item and is a very good value; I would recommend it to anyone who likes a Vintage style print!
I ordered this quilt in a Queen size for my queen bed, and it fits like any other queen size quilt I have gotten before. Recently moved in with my boyfriend, and the bigger size quilt is nice for when we are both under the blanket. I don't care if it looks like the quilt goes all the way to the floor personally, but the extra length is nice for when two people are under it. So if you are looking for a normal size queen quilt it is true to size. If you want extra length (how the quilt is pictured is a size up) then go with a size up.
I love this quilt. I ordered a quilt (not a comforter) because I wanted something that would work year 'round. Perfect for warm weather and air conditioning or cold weather with a light cotton blanket under it. The color combination is great and looks perfect in my freshly painted master bedroom. I have not washed it yet but I'm optimistic that it will be fine.
