I love the colors in this comforter, but am confused because I ordered the Quilt. I even talked to a service personal about deference in quilt & comforter. She said quilt had trim around hem & not as full. I expected quilt with stitching from one side to other. On the comfort the material is loose with 3 or 4 rows of 3 different stitches across comforter. I was not thinking & have a footboard so the pretty designs at bottom do not show.
I looked at least a hundred quilts before choosing this one. The bed has a charcoal linen headboard and this quilt is a full shade darker. So, first, the color of the quilt was perfect, a medium charcoal gray that really shows off the unusual stitching design. At first glance it seems pretty straightforward, but a second, even third look reveals a pattern that doesn't resolve itself symmetrically, so the blocks aren't so traditional. Very modern, very beautiful. I combined it with pale silver'gray striped damask sheets and a pale gray coverlet that has a wide butter yellow stripe, which is folded back to cover the lower third of the bed, and there are two matching yellow queen shams. The combinations of gray and yellow are very satisfying. The quality of the material and stitchery are excellent. In summer the white version would be great, too. Highly recommended.
I like the appearance and design of this quilt. Bought a queen for oversized queen mattress and fits well. Have a bed with side rails and the quilts hangs low enough to cover the sheets. Not as soft or as thick as a Martha Stewart quilt I purchased at Macy's, but overall for the price, would recommend. Only giving 4 stars because it is not as soft and thick as expected, but still very attractive and seems to be well made. I put the cotton/silk blanket (which I also purchased at Overstock) and with both, is very warm for months of March and April in the south. Yes, I recommend.
