This quilt set is very bright and pretty; it's perfect for spring and summer. The quilt is very thin, but you don't need more than that when the outside temperatures rise, between April and September around here. I have not washed it yet, but it is very well sewn and reminds me of what you might see as bedding in a tropical resort. The flowered side is primarily teal coloured with larger white/yellow flowers resembling lilies, and smaller off white flowers resembling gardenias. The pattern is brilliant and the green foliage ties in nicely with the flowers and the teal background. The opposite side is white with tan coloured bamboo shoots throughout, creating a type of windowpane or lattice pattern (difficult to describe, but it is just a very clean pattern if you get tired of seeing the flowered side). The pillow shams are also reversible with the same patterns on either side, which is unique in itself because most shams are of only one pattern even when the quilt has different patterns on each side. I thought that was worth mentioning. This quilt brightens up the room, especially if you have a dark furniture, but it would look stunning against lighter furniture as well, as the teal really pops. I bought striped sheets to offset the flower pattern, and it goes together really well. It's a very pretty set that will wash up nicely in the washer due to its light weight. I much prefer quilt sets to comforter sets, as I have learned in the past from washing comforters that they tend to get quite bunchy, because of the fill used within. Down comforters have not presented this problem for me, but getting them cleaned professionally becomes yet another chore; two trips to the dry cleaners, and is cost prohibitive to boot. Quilt sets are my go to. Overstock has the best selection of quilts and quilt sets,
I buy these smaller than my bed and use them as color over the floral quilt that's on the bed. So you see the floral and the solid at the foot of the bed.
Purchased this quilt set for a guest room that is painted a pink peony color. The pink flowers in the quilt are the perfect shade to go with the walls. The green is bright, but is very beautiful when toned down with aqua blue accessories.
