The king-sized mattress pad just barely fit in my top-loading Speed Queen extra large capacity washing machine. I recommend that larger sizes (definitely "king" and possibly "queen" as well) be laundered in a commercial front loader. There was some lint left on the pad after washing and drying but that's probably due to needing BIG washing machines and dryers. Otherwise, the pad seems well made. The side panels aren't made of the nasty synthetic stuff which shreds over time and laundering. Our thick Sleep Number mattress doesn't fit into some pads. The Candice Olson product was purchased because I got tired of wrestling matches resulting in shredded side panels, failed seams, and broken finger nails. This pad fits fine, though the quilted top panel doesn't quite cover the whole mattress top. It's a good value too. I had priced other mattress pads in block-and-mortar stores. Most of them were *** or more, didn't have sturdy side panels and weren't very generous in the fill category. This pad has enough fill that the quilt lines show through the fitted sheet. Not an issue for me, but it might be for those who want a very smooth looking bed, particularly with thin-material bed linens.
This is a deep fitted mattress pad. It fit easily over my mattress AND Candice Olson Alternative Fiber Bed (also purchased on Overstock). So.... if you're not currently in the market for a new mattress, these two together will give you a bit longer mattress life. They are a bit warm so I opted for a light weight quilt instead of a comforter. That did the trick for me. It may be a bit much for some, but I shake and rotate them every time I change my bedding, this seems to add an additional 'refresher'. The mattress pad does not have that 'plastic' sound that I've noticed with other waterproof pads and has a very nice loft to it. Gave waterproofing a test and seems to work well, had to give time for sheets to dry - LOL It is also a great two-in-one alternative if you don't want to buy a topper AND mattress pad. It has the loft of a topper, plus it's waterproof!
Love it ...and it is deep...and comfortable. I am a huge fan if ms. Olson but did not buy for that reason. I don't like buying items with names attached. I bought because I needed it - a good one was not available from Macy's and the reviews were good. And, we love it! I only wish 100% - truly 100% mattress pads made in America were available.
