Wonderful sheets! Purchased Ivory 1st, then sage. These sheets are great but do need a "breaking in time" as is the case with most high TC bedding. Because they are thick heavy sheets you really need to wash them probably a dozen cycles to start feeling just how soft they become. I have similar quality white sheets, also Egyptian cotton, they have been washed multiple times the past yr & now are sooooo!!!! soft. What you're paying for is the density of weaving, that's what "thread count" means, to those not accustomed to this they may seem heavy & even a little scratchy at 1st. Once broken in, you'll love them & sleep so well you'll never go back and they will last for many yrs, they are an investment. RE: wrinkling issue, 1st they are cotton, 2nd launder as recommended, 3rd dry top & bottom sheets separately with a tennis ball in the dryer (old trick) that keeps them from "balling up", 4th fold & stack nicely; this should smooth out most of the wrinkles. I alternate my linens, touch up top sheet/ pillow cases with iron & my bed always looks & feels WONDERFUL!!! Overstock is great, prices can't be beat & customer service is fab. Invest in these linens, you'll be glad you did (WHAT'S MORE IMPORTANT THAN OUR SLEEP?)
Felt the need the leave a review after sorting through countless contradictory posts about not only these, but all the bedding on here in general. Yes, everybody has different tastes about their sleep preferences, but let me give a neutral review. They are definitely not "like sleeping on burlap." They are very smooth and crisp, although like all other cotton sheets they get a little softer after each wash. They are pretty lightweight, you can see light through them if held up to one. Unless you are sleeping without a blanket though, this shouldn't be a problem and is actually pretty great on those hot summer nights when you kick your heavy comforter off and just have these. I happen to love these sheets because of the crisp feel, but if you're looking for something more akin to a blanket, heavy and velvety soft, then these are not for you. But the cool, crisp and smooth feel makes me never want to get out of bed in the morning! Not to mention I got them in king size for less than $100, which is an amazing price for this great set of sheets.
I originally bought a set of these sheets in Cal King Medium Blue. I loved them so much that I bought two sets of the matching King pillowcases, and another sheet set and two more pillowcase sets in the Sage color. The 1500 TC pillowcase colors match the 1500 TC sheets perfectly, and are as pictured. Both Medium Blue sheets and pillowcases are a saturated medium blue color, although the Sage color is slightly less saturated than the picture on my monitor shows. Both Med Blue and Sage feel and look to be very expensive and high-quality. The sheets are very deep, and easily fit my 14 inch mattress with a mattress pad underneath, with room to spare. But People, PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH before you buy high Thread Count sheets. Don't give low reviews, or waste your money, simply because you were ignorant of what you were ordering. High TC sheets start out being heavy and a little stiff when you first open the package, but they soften up by washing and using them. The higher the TC, the heavier the sheets, so these sheets are heavy. Lower thread count sheets will be initially more pliable and more "airy" feeling, because there are fewer threads per square inch, so they actually are more airy since there is more air between threads. If you like light weight, airy sheets, get low TC or cotton-blend sheets. Initial softness in cotton sheets depend on the quality of the cotton used, and whether they have been pre-softened before you buy them. Having your sheets pre-softened means that they are usually more expensive, because of the extra time and processes involved. These sheets have not been pre-softened, so we are able to buy them cheaper than you would otherwise. Also note that all cotton sheets, especially higher TC sheets, WILL WRINKLE and take more time to dry! If you have multiple sets, which I recommend, fold the other set when it comes out of the dryer, putting your folded pillowcases between the bottom and top sheets so the weight naturally presses them, and put the set away. When you take them out to change sheets, the folded set will have lost most of the wrinkles. By alternating sheet sets, and folding the unused set, you shouldn't have to iron your sheets. If you are still unsatisfied with your minor wrinkles, or if you only have one set, you can iron your sheets if it really bugs you. These particular sheets are beautiful and have held up well after washing. They are exactly what you would expect from 1500 TC sheets, will last forever, and are far less expensive on the big O than elsewhere.
I purchased these sheets to fit a special made California King bed with temperpedic mattress topper. Before laundering, the sheets were loose fitting, but after being washed, the fit was one of the best ever. The fabric is very thick and appears to be quite durable. With every laundering, these sheets feel softer and softer, and this is a comfortable, cotton feel not the slick satteen feel of many sheets sold today. Although the price of these sheets was a tad bit more than I generally like to pay, I ordered another set because of the durability and softness factor. These are probably the best sheets I've purchased in many, many years.
Have contunued to purchase all our linen from Overstock.com due to the excellent quality of all Egyption Cotton Sets of thread count over 1000. I needed larger pillow cases to match my prior purchase of sheets from Overstock.com and was pleased to find this set of oversize pillow cases to fit our large pillows. Once you buy and use any of these 1000 to 1200 thread count egyptian cotton linen you will never settle for anything less. The price is right and comfort for my bed where we all spend 25% to 33% of our day is worth spending a little extra to me. Overstock.com makes the savings and value make me feel great the other 75 plus percent of my day.
I bought this burgundy duvet cover, a 630 thread count Egyptian cotton sheet, and another 600 thread count Egyptian cotton sheet from overstock. Of the three, this one feels like its in a whole new class of smoothness. This duvet cover is smoother than any sheet/duvet cover I have ever felt, there are no stripes on it, the brand is Luxor, the color looks like the burgundy in the pic, and the shams have a crease where the pillow inserts in middle of the sheet on one side. Alot of people here are complaining of the shams, I don't see anything wrong with them. As for the actual duvet cover... Wow!!! It feels like a luxurious satin sheet, but has the crispness and coolness of a high quality cotton. So good infact I went to a department store to feel other 600 count sheets to confirm the legitmacy of my other purchases. Nothing in the store, except the the fancy 200 dollar 1000 thread counts felt quite as nice as these. This is a must buy, I have no idea where these other reviewers are getting their information or what sheet they received. All I know is I purchased 3 sheets/duvet covers at one time from overstock and this one could run smoothness circles around the other two.
Finally, a extra deep pocket sheet that actually fits my thick mattress with a featherbed on top and still had lots of room. The quality of these sheets is excellent. These are a heavy, soft sheet, very large so have lots of room. They do recommend washing in cold water but with the size of these sheets I don't see how they could shrink so much in hot water that you couldn't use them. They have a thick elastic band around them and are made to actually fit the corners. I plan to order another set. I see where these sheets are well over *** & I can see why. The feel is amazing. They are a thick, soft, luxurious sheet, heavier than most so might take some people time to get used to that. But these sheets will last for years where other, cheaper sheets wear out. Also high thread count sheets get softer with age.
No reviews on this when I bought it, so I was a little concerned. However, it was the only low priced solid white duvet in cotton. I am well pleased with the quality, size, make, fabric. No complaints - just like the one at Porto Fino resort in Belize. It's for the beach vaca themed guest room. Now I need all the accessories Overstock!
I was so tired of my husband shifting all the covers to his side of the bed while I would cling to a skimpy side piece of the comforter. This oversized down comforter is long enough to tuck in at the bottom to keep it from being shifted and wide enough to hang over a full 12 inches so there is no need for him to pull it over to his side in the middle of the night. Yay! Finally warm and comfy.
Like the one negative review says about these sheets, they are really heavy. I mean these sheets are really really heavy, for sheets. I dont see it as a negative though, they are beautiful, comfortable and the quality can be felt and seen. I would definately purchase these sheets again.
These sheets are very soft. They come in colors that work with any decor. It would be great if the pocket on the fitted was a little deeper but they do not slip off the corners. I am going to order another set.
For years I have purchased pricey "luxury" sheets from a linen warehouse store, but they can't compare to these. Soft as can be, and these really don't wrinkle much. Best of all, they truly DO fit an extra-deep mattress that is topped with a 3-inch memory foam--no more struggling with that fitted sheet! Not only are these better than what I had been using--they're also cheaper! An excellent value.
Bought two of these pillowcase sets in the King size and Medium Blue color, and two sets in the King size and Sage color. The colors match the 1500 TC sheets perfectly, and are as pictured. Both Medium Blue sheets and pillowcases are a saturated medium blue color, although the Sage color is slightly less saturated than the picture on my monitor shows. These towels are luxurious like those found in the top 54 hotels of the world. The thick edged piping gives distinction. They are a soft medium thickness for faster drying. Slightly longer to wrap nicely around. I chose optical white, classic and clean
I LOVE this duvet cover. I am a fan of upscale hotels, and this cover makes me feel like Im sleeping in a *** every night! It is seriously chic and stylish, soft and high quality. I have other *** covers that cost the same as this and they are only 300 threadcount, and for the same price you can get this 1000 threadcount set. I LOVE IT. The only complaint is that it doesnt have internal ties to keep the duvet in place, so I just sewed some shoelaces in each inside corner and it works like a charm! I am IN LOVE WITH MY BED. YOU MUST BUY THIS!!
When I examined the sheets I felt the material and found it to be a bit "thin" and was going to return them. I chatted with O.com and got an RMA# and even free return shipping very easily. I love Overstock.com. Then I talked to my neighbor who purchased the same sheets, examined her sheets after she had washed them and found the fabric to be soft, smooth and sturdy. So I reconsidered, washed my sheets and put them on the bed yesterday. The sheets fit my king mattress well with ample skirt on the fitted sheet. I could even add another couple of memory foam toppers to the mattress and they would still fit. The flat sheet width is not so ample, but the length is. The fabric is not "thin" as I first thought (I had only felt the pillow case). I would note that the description didn't mention that the cotton is "single ply" which I now know is a good thing from reading up on Egyptian cotton sheets on other web sites. This should be mentioned in the O.com description. I am happy with my purchase and glad I didn't return the sheets. O.com chat people are terrific and really give good customer service.
I purchased the white duvet cover, and the picture is a little misleading. The picture available clearly shows the duvet having even striped, but the duvet cover in fact has an uneven stripe-pattern instead. This pattern is only on one side of the duvet, so if you're looking for a completely plain duvet you should know that the underside is solid. The fabric itself feels really nice, although I washed it before using it because there was clearly starch used to press it in the factory. The duvet cover is a little large for my duvet cover but works fine (I have a full sized duvet cover, not a queen). Fabric: heavy duty, feels high end, is not thin Closures: buttons, corners are seamed so your duvet won't pop out (bonus points!) Pattern: different from what I expected but I still like it a lot Overall: For $70, you could do a lot worse. This was a great purchase.
I bought these sheets hoping for durable, soft-not satin soft, but not crisp. These are perfect after about 6 washings. They are very heavy sheets. I usually sleep with just them and a light blanket and it is perfect. I don't feel like they are going to tear when I put the fitted sheet on the corner-durable. I bought the sage and the color is true. If you give them a try, I don't think you will be disappointed.
FINALLY!! Sheets that will fit on a super thick Tempur-Pedic mattress! That is a mattress that is19-20" thick. I looked all over the place, on-line and locally, and no sheet set can come close to matching this one for many reasons. I am writing this review to help everyone that is frustrated with finding a quality sheet set at a great price! First of all, the sheets are amazingly large and they wrap way under the mattress and do no move! The 500 thread count is very nice. You also get two sets of pillowcases. I bought the king sized sheet sets in two colors. When I called to inquire about color, they told me that the darker one was brown. I would more accurately describe it as a deep, rich brownish-GOLDEN color. I also got the yellow looking set and I would describe that as a lighter gold set, but much more yellow than "gold". Last of all, the price can not be beat for the quality!!
It is almost impossible to find anything made in this country, and it was one of the reasons i bought this set. Very very soft, washes well, and I wash my sheets in hot water, don't know how these will hold up, but right now I am very satisfied.
I actually searched these sheets out because they came up with a "Made in America" search. Well, when they arrived the packaging no where said "Made in America", but after searching the product carefully, there it was. They were "MADE IN AMERICA" and they ROCK! I love them and they continue to get better and better with each and every wash. I loved them so much that as soon as I had them on my bed for a brief period of time, I ordered another pair. Highly recommended!!!!
Weighty and soft. Very generous pockets, fits pillow top + memory foam pad with ease. I was surprised to notice the difference in a good night's sleep.
I was very pleased to purchase a product made in the USA. I wish you would list where every item is made; That's paramount in deciding which product I want to buy. I want to help Americans keep their jobs.
This duvet cover is great. It is very thick, and very heavy... which should be expected for 1200 thread count. After a couple of washes, the duvet is very soft, and luxurious. My favorite feature of the duvet cover is the fact that there is no seam at the top of the cover. There is an openeing on the bottom (which closes with buttons) and two seams up the side, but none at the top. Which means, this is one piece of fabric. Not "top and bottom" pieces that are sewed together around the edges. Love it.
I had never purchased a duvet set before and this purchase sold me! No more bed-in-a-bag for us! I immediately threw the duvet set in the washing machine upon arrival and what came out of the dryer was a soft, sheen duvet cover. I couldn't have been more pleased. It gives the bedroom a clean and comfortable look. It's my taste. But if you're into layering your bed, it would work very well as the foundational piece then adding your various textures and colors on top.
I ordered this in sage and love the color and the feel. I was looking for something a bit heavier, but is still soft and that is what I got. I have washed it twice and have had no problems except one button on the duvet came off, which is no big deal.
The material and color(gold) are wonderful. It has a great sheen to it and feels real quality. I have other 1500TC Egyptian cotton which is softer but not as heavy/thick as this material. It also seems to get softer with washing. I've found washing this high TC Egyptian cotton not a problem and simply hang it to dry without ironing. Ironing will probably make it more uniform/smooth, but be careful not to burn it !
The size of king size is very generous - I managed to comfortably (no pun intended!) fit a super king size duvet inside this cover - it's that big ! I used Canadian goose down as I don't like to compromise!
Some might think this material feels too hard and stiff (like canvas) but it's warmth and quality are what I want. It's also real heavy material - you'll feel it's weight from when you first receive it, to when you're under it in bed. It makes me think of parachute material?, it's that strong/solid. This material breathes and insulates really well. You won't be cold in bed again with this material. I've bought all my Egyptian cotton from the USA ( I live in the UK) - which shows how good it is, and this Egyptian cotton is the heaviest I've come across.
This material makes you feel like a King/Queen in bed. Life's too short to miss out on this quality. It's a fraction of the price of similar bedding at Harrods (London), probably better quality and there's more color choices. Quality without paying for an exclusive brand name.
I had never ordered these before, so i was a little apprehensive. But they turned out quite good for the price. I like the quality and look of fabric--nice and tough, just as 800 thread should feel, beautiful sheen, as expected from satin. The embroidery was slightly less than perfect: a couple of loose ends. And a little too much color for my idea of ivory.
Love these pillowcases and sheets, my husband even said that these were the best we've ever had, better than the non-egyptian cotton 1200tc sheets we've had for several years. These have a crisp feel that I like, they don't get too warm like the heavier thread counts tend to.
I have had these sheets for 6 months now and they have been washed at least half a dozen times. They have held up well and continue to feel soft, with little or no pilling. They are somewhat thin, but still feel sturdy enough. I have tried several inexpensive sheet sets and, for the price, these are the best ones I have found!
I love these sheets. I've had them for a month now, and they
are very soft and have held up well. There are no loose strings
pilling, or unraveling at the seams. The quality is excellent and the
color is true as described in the product description. The best part of these sheets are the stripes pattern. They make the room look even better and have a pleasant feel. Would definitely recommend these to all my friends looking to buy quality sheets this holiday season.
nice feel to the towel and absorbs well. I unfortunately washed a lesser quality Martex set of towels with these and have tons of lint from the other towels all over these which I am having trouble getting off because the link adheres so well.
I have some of the Malouf 600 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets that I use on my king-sized bed. I love them, because they are soft, durable, and of a medium weight. The weight falls between Malouf's light microfiber sheets and their heavy Portuguese flannel sheets. They are great for me, because I like a somewhat heavy sheet in the winter. The 400 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets are on my queen-sized bed right now. They are wonderful sheets as well. I wanted to explain the 600 thread count sheets to you so that I could point out the differences if you are trying to decide between the two. Whereas the 600 thread count sheets are a medium weight sheet, the 400 thread count sheets are what I would call a "light-to-medium" weight sheet. They are not as light as microfiber sheets, and not as heavy as the 600 thread count sheets. Because they have fewer threads than the 600 thread count sheets, they are more supple (the 600 thread count version is a little on the stiffer side). For this reason, I prefer the 600 thread count sheet during the cold winter months, and the 400 thread count sheet in the warmer months. If you tend to sleep hot, even during the winter, then the 400 thread count sheet would be preferable. Both are very high quality, soft, comfortable, and durable. I really like the gray color that we purchased as well. It has a soft, expensive look to it. I can recommend this sheet without reservation.
They are so soft and comfortable, they have changed how I sleep. They are also really thick and appear to be good quality. I have washed them twice and they still look like new. Best purchase I've made in a long time, love them. The lavender is a bit more purple than the picture.
WE love this comforter. Like the oversized feature, comforter is warm and cozy but not HOT, I truly recommend this wonderful product especially if you life in cold winter climate. We turn our heat down at night but still want to be warm and comfortable.
i bought these along with a 500 tc sheet set to make a comparison & there is definetly a difference. these are much thicker .. i like these for my extre pillows on my bed and feel like they are well made, they don't start out as soft as the 500 tc cotton, but again appear to be durableand are getting softer with each washing. i am happy with this item
Great sheets, very smooth and soft. They fit the mattress so well that it is not hard to put the fitted sheet on, it stays on too! The quality of craftsmanship is the highest of all sheets I have purchased. There was even a thank you note from the company, a thank you for the support of the families who work there for an American made product. Will definitely purchase again!
I was nervous about getting a low thread count sheet set since I tend to assume anything under 500 count will be subpar, but it actually is really durable, thick and well made. I washed it out of the box and it did not deteriorate in quality at all (albeit it's only been washed once, but still). I ordered the Ivory and the color is as appears in the photo, maybe a tiny bit yellower than expected but it works just fine with my color scheme. I needed the deep pockets and they fit very well. Overall very please with this sheet set.
I have never been disappointed w/Croscill. This pattress pad is on my bed on top of a 4" thick mattress topper and it still fits the mattress just fine. It held up just fine through the wash and I don't have to worry about pulling it tightly at the corners, no ripping has happened. I would recommend it and it was a good price.
