"How do you care for a goose down comforter? Do I take it to the cleaners for the proper care that is needed?"
It’s good. Just a little heavier than I thought it would be. It’s good for the winter, but you will need a much lighter one for those warm summer nights

A Perfect Comforter
I bought the king size comforter and love it. The construction is great quality with good stitching all around. The piping is done just right and give it a perfect look if you were to use it w/o a duvet. The fabric is soft and smooth like 700 tc should be, and the baffle design keeps the down evenly distributed. The size is just right; it hangs over the sides about 8 inches and the foot about 6 inches. I bought a duvet to keep the comforter crisp white and protected as I have an indoor/outdoor cat who sleeps inside and brings in a yard full of dirt at the end of the day and it fit perfectly. I actually bought the duvet 2 inches narrower than the comforter and it fills it out perfectly with no excess fabric on any edge. Perfect! The weight is perfect as well. You don't feel as though it's so heavy you can't move, but you don't feel like you're laying under some inferior light-weight summer throw either. A great purchase.

Five Stars-Perfectly Tailored
The Naples 700 Thread Count Hungarian Goose Down Comforter arrived quickly and smelled fresh with no discernible odor. The down fluffed up nicely and the comforter DOES have the 1 inch gusseted sides as stated. It looks great, feels wonderful and is a truly good buy. I have had many high-end down comforters in the past and look forward to this one lasting a long time. I especially like its neat, tailored appearance, and it would look great just by itself without a cover if you preferred that. It does have new tags stating content and size--88x90 inches for the full/queen size, filled and finished in the U.S.A.

unthinkable construction!
Since purchase, this has been one of the worst and most maddening purchases I have ever made - and it's not inexpensive! Here's the problem: each of the baffles has one corner where it is not stitched closed - an approximately six inch opening for the down to go wherever it pleases. This causes most of the down to fill up squares around the edges, leaving (quite literally) no down fill in the baffles over our bodies. I called Overstock and was told "it's supposed to be like that. Why is it, then, that I wake up cold, with almost all of the baffles over the sides and bottom of the bed packed tight, really tight, with down fill. Looks like the saddlebags of a camel caravan! Overstock suggest "fluffing occasionally" I have been fluffing, hitting with a yardstick daily, which is an absurd use of my time. It is the worst! If I had anything to do with management at Overstock, I would contact everyone who mistakenly purchased this comforter and offer a proper replacement or refund. But because that does not seem to be in the cards, Caveat Emptor - do not purchase this comforter!

Very nice. the comforter has 1 inch gussets with generous amount of fill.

Heaven
I researched the s*** out of down comforters and, let me tell you, for the price, this is the best deal! I wanted to find a down comforter that was similar to the kinds they offer in fancy hotels. After much research, I decided to purchase this one. When I first arrived home and saw the package, I was perplexed, "There is now way my comforter is in that small box..." BUT I took it out and fluffed it up and then let it sit for several hours. When I returned, it was HUGE! It had expanded and tripled in size. I am very pleased with this purchase and now refer to my bed as "heaven". Pros: Internal baffle box construction: Helps contain down and keep it evenly distributed 700 thread count: I put mine into a duvet cover to keep it clean; however, the material was so luxurious that I didn't want to. 1 in gusset: This, in my opinion, makes a huge difference in the fullness of the pockets around the edges 700 fill power and 55 ounces of down(for king size) : I was hard pressed to find any other quality down comforters with 55 ounces of fill in my price range--let alone 55 ounces of white Hungarian down! Cons: None thus far Overall: I would have purchased this comforter for more. That being said, this was a GREAT deal!

Grand
The Hotel Grand Naples 700 Thread Count Hungarian White Goose Down Comforter is really grand! It has been chilly this October in my state and the comforter is very warm. It also oversized and quite spacious on my queen size bed. I'm so glad I bought it!
-
Excellent Comforter
I reviewed a lot of comforters on this site before selecting this one & VERY glad that I did. This goose down comforter is well worth the money. It is very, very comfy & QUITE warm, won't need more then this on your bed! The quality of the material is great, very soft, just snuggle right up. I purchased the king for a queen sized bed & it is very plentiful in size, would fit a king bed just fine. If you purchase this one you will Enjoy!

exceptional item
in the past i have purchased hungarian goose down comforters from very upscale locations. this comforter is superior to those i have purchased in the past as the amount of stitches per inch of the very fine outer cover are exceptional. the fabric is very fine also. the boxes are of the best size for maximum comfort and warmth distribution.in all i would buy more of this particular comforter if the need should arise.

Love this comforter!
After doing quite a bit searching, I decided to order the Grand Naples for our new king size bed. I wanted an oversized comforter so that my husband and I wouldn't be pulling the comforter off each other as we slept. Not thinking, the comforter was only 1 inch shorter on each side of my decorative comforter set. For that reason, I was going to return the comforter as soon as it arrived. After I received the comforter and looked at it, I simply couldn't return it. The quality is exceptional. It is extremely comfortable to sleep with and is very cozy. My husband likes it warmer than I do, but I found that it is comfortable for me also. It's not too puffy and not flat. No feathers have come out since I purchased this comforter and the stitching is top notch. We both love this comforter and cannot part with it.
-
Definitely not 650 fill power
I decided on this one mainly because of the fill power. I like my down comforters to look full and I like being able to see the box stich. The thread count was just an added bonus. After it arrived I could tell that I wasn't getting what I thought just by looking at the bag. After pulling it out and shaking and fluffing it did not puff out as I had hoped. There are some squares that did fill up nicely, but many of the others are quite flat. The fabric quality is nice and it definitely has a smell, but I'm sure that will go away. If you are not looking for an extremely fluffy comforter this might be the one for you. Ratings: Appearance, based on overall look with some boxes looking much fuller than others. Comfort, based on the fact that I thought I was getting something much heavier. The fabric doesn't have any kind of design to it but does feel nice. I still think it was a good deal, but I originally thought I was getting a steal!

Box design does NOT stay together
I've just started using this comforter with the cooler weather and learned very quickly that the down floats to the side edges just like all the other cheap brands. The stitching with the box design isn't all the way thru or it's just come loose and in the middle you end up with litle down - a HUGE disappointment for such an expensive item.

Great at first
This was a beautiful comforter for the first week, then all the filling bunched up at the bottom - of course, by the time we realized this was happening and couldn't be "fixed" the return policy had expired. The feel of the fabric is nice - but definately NOT worth the price!

Be Patient With It -- Try it first!!
OK, I did all the research. For the price and the criteria, this duvet had all the right numbers. I was initally skeptical b/c of the mixed reviews, but for the price for pure down, I went ahead and purchased it. Got it fast, it was packed without labels in a plastic bag with no labels as other reviews had stated. I shook it to fluff it and let it sit. The smell was OK to me, just a bit like down stuff I've prevously had. (Now I've had it for three weeks and the smell is gone completely and I never washed it before use.) The fabric is very nice with a nice sheen to it, as other reviewers said. I fluffed it some more...Probably 3-4 of the boxes around the edges are a little low on down (felt like two sheets) and I was annoyed and was going to return it. All the rest of the fluffed up quite a bit. I was still not sure. So I decided to try it for a week before returning it. Thankfully, I was patient. It is amazing. To try it, I put it in a duvet cover and used just the duvet (no extra blanket) and a sheet to sleep under (basically, I took the extra blanket off my bed as I wanted to see how this thing really worked). It was amazing. I was very comfortable all night. I live in Denver, and so we experience all seasons and crazy temperature swings from day to day. I really love it and am very pleased with this purchase. It is actually a bit too warm in a way...if you are hot, you can just uncover your shoulders...I was worried that b/c those few boxes felt seemed empty, that it wouldn't be warm. This is definitely NOT a concern. This duvet will keep you plenty warm! I would but another one if I needed it. And the look is fluffy and nice. So don't worry about those few boxes that seem not as full as all the others, it isn't an issue in the look or the warmth. For the price, this is defintely worth it as other all down duvets will run you a grand easily. This is all soft down (no sharp feathers). Enjoy it :)
-
BEWARE!
I received this with NO product labeling whatsoever, so you have no idea whether or not it is in fact what you ordered. When I tried to put it in the duvet cover, it was over a foot too big. After speaking with Customer Service, they did send me a return label, but I was informed that the manufacturer sends them with out any labeling. Doesn't give me a lot of confidence.

Is this really fully filled with down?
The comforter is beautiful looking and the fabric quality appears to be excellent. However, I really doubt that the comforter is fully filled with down. There are many flat spots and the down shifts around constantly. It may be what it promises to be, but it seems unlikely. How does one prove its truly fully filled with the amount of down it promises? Good question!
-
Shifty down
The comforter looks and feels lovely however the down shifts between baffles so that there's no down left on top of the bed and it's all in the baffles hanging down the sides of the bed! So no warmth for the sleepers. This is one comforter that I wish I had not purchased.

This comforter has to be the best comforter. It is fluffy, comfortable and easy to maintain. It doesn’t clump up like some of the comforters we have owned in the past and it keeps us warm in these cruel Iowa winters.

Best comforter ever. I bought king size for a queen bed thinking that a queen would not be long enough to be tucked in. Boy did I do that wrong. Should have gotten a queen, but I won't send it back. I love it. I just tuck it in.

This is a pretty heavy piece and there are no strings on the side to attach to a duvet. I found it keep falling off our feet and it's a battle to pull it up because it's heavy. Nonetheless, it's very warm and nice at night...I don't think you can use this during spring or summer. This is really good for cold winter.

I’ve had this down comforter for several years now. No shifting of feathers which is great. Nice weight for the winter. I wash it periodically. No problems whatsoever and it has held up well, with no tears or defects. Excellent value.

Soft, cozy, great price! Bought king for queen so after a year down shifts to sides. Needs shaking out because the down gravitates to sides.
