  • Sneza

I have had this comforter for a over a year. It looks and feels beautiful but after about a month the down started coming out in large quantities. I have dark carpeting and its everywhere just from making the bed. The down has started to migrate so its not fluffy everywhere but the biggest problem is all those feathers. Not for those with allergies. Even when its in 2 duvet covers ( a thick cotton one and a silk one over) a lot of feathers still come out. I would not recommend it to anyone.

  • Am returning this comforter

The baffles aren't completely sown so the down shifts. I hate this as it creates work for me to try to get it where I want it...it's the very problem I'm having with my current comforter. So this one will go back to Overstocks.com and I'll continue the hunt for a baffle box comforter that is truly a baffle box with no shifting. Frustrating and maddening! I feel deceived as nowhere in the descriptions did it say "partial baffle", just baffle box design. Perhaps if I'd read the reviews first I might have realized....

  • READ THE REVIEWS - DON'T BUY THIS COMFORTER!

Okay, so this was my first time purchasing from Overstock. My friend said to read the reviews prior to purchasing, but I thought perhaps that I would get lucky with this comforter. Not so...Overall, my experience with Overstock has been fantastic, but the comforter I ordered was nothing more than what the previous reviews said - do not purchase this comforter!! It was shipped on 10/21/06 and I received it on 10/25/06 (FAST SHIPPING). As soon as I took the comforter out of the box I saw an area of stitching coming undone, and there were two boxes that had very little down. Buy from Overstock, but do NOT buy this comforter!!!!!!!!

  • great comforter - minor flaw
    Verified Purchase

This is an exceptionally warm comforter. I bought it for a weekend cabin in the mountains. When we arrive on Friday nights, the interior is around 30 degrees and it takes overnight to warm up. The wood stove heats the living area well, but hits the bedroom last. This comforter keeps us toasty warm! It fluffed out beautifully with no smell and the fabric shell is beautiful. My only concern is that the run of interior baffles along the head and the foot of the comforter (none in-between) have about a 2 inch "sewing" gap (for the entire length) which may likely lead to some down shifting along the 2 edges over time. I figured that rather than returning it, I would work with it since in every other way it was what I wanted. My other concern had to do with information shipped with the product (or rather the lack thereof!). The comforter arrived in a box, in a zipped bag, with absolutely no identifying information other than the tag attached to the comforter indicating "at least 75% goose down." No product name (Milano), no information sheet...nothing! Maybe everything comes from Overstock this way....but I think not!. So...I am taking a chance on both Overstock and the comforter. So far (about a month) for the comforter, it has worked out well. FYI - this is not a comforter for a mild climate.

I rated "quality" as good because I like the comforter's size, its fabric, its double stitch edging and it is warm, however, a very big dislike is the shifting of its feathers between the baffles and even with fluffing it is very difficult to redistribute the feathers. Secondly I don't like having to have it dry cleaned. The maintenance of this comforter is a major problem.

  • Grand Milano 800 count down comforter
    Verified Purchase

I am so disappointed with this comforter. I had bought one locally for only *** but took it back as it didn't have much down in it. I thought by spending *** for the Grand Milano goose down, I would get a better quality comforter. This comforter is so thin it seems as if there is hardly any down in it at all. The baffled squares only are a fourth full and you can see right through them. We have shook it many times and laid it on the bed and it still is thin and flat. I would love to return it but can't find the invoice, if I even got one. I am sorry I wasted my money on this comforter. I also wonder if it really is Hungarian White Goose down as it doesn't say it is on the tag.

  • Long-term perspective! Overall ... a Good Buy!
    Verified Purchase

Overall, we are very pleased with this comforter! We bought it a little over a year ago, but I purposely waited to write this review, because when I was researching this purchase, I looked for someone who had had theirs for longer than a month or two. I hope this helps give you a longer-term perspective! The comforter is very comfortable and very beautiful on our bed. It is a heavy comforter, but we still use it year round with no issues. The only two things I don't like about it, is that I would like for it to be a little longer to hang lower on the end and sides of the bed, and it requires "fluffing" alot. Now that it has more wear on it, I have to fluff it every day or two to keep the filling from bunching up. Other than that, we would definitely recommend it!

  • Very pleased
    Verified Purchase

I have had this comforter for over a year now and I am very pleased with it. The baffle box construction is not fully sewn, and that can be a good and a bad thing. I like it because it allows me to distribute the down as we prefer (more on top of the bed where we lay, a little less on the edges hanging down). I can see how the down moving could irritate some people... but I have not had a problem with it. It's just as fluffy now as it was when I purchased it originally. Keeping a duvet cover on it is a must to mantain it in good condition, although the down definitely benefits from regular airings, which return the "fluffiness" to the comforter. I never had any issues with down leaks or odors, and the fabric is good quality, but not extremely high thread count, which keeps the price down and the weight light! Definitely one of the better deals in down comforters that can be found in Overstock.

  • Hungarian Goose Down
    Verified Purchase

I have never owned a Goose Down before.. I conducted a lot of research. I read a lot of reviews on this one. I can't speak for someone else's Hungarian Goose Down that was purchased from this site, but I will tell all who read this, none of the negative things that i have read about this Goose Down are true. I absolutely love this particular Down. It is puffs up so nicely and keeps you sooo warm.. it is elegant and worth the money I spent on it. This was my birthday gift to myself for Dec. 2011.. I don't regret this purchase.. try it.. don't even worry about sending it back.. spread it out allow it to air out and watch how it puffs up like an air mattress.. absolutely WONDERFUL!!

If you are seeking solid warmth and weight, this is the comforter for you. My body temperature tends to run cold and I love how this keeps me very warm at night. I've had it for about a year now, and it is still in great shape. I'm pleasantly impressed and wanted to share

Never fluffed up even after 2 rounds in the dryer. Didn't feel like paying shipping to return- very heavy- put a duvet on it and called it a day. The down was not evenly distributed. Very disappointed with this purchase.

  • Survived a lot
    Verified Purchase

I bought this comforter over 6 yrs ago, and it has survived a toddle jumping on it and several episodes of cat pee. Therefore, it has survived being soaked in the bathtub with vinegar, rinsed, and hung to dry (which is against label instructions). It is toasty warm, even for a cold-blooded creature like me! My only complaint is that the stuffing seems rather lopsided; I think due to the stitching, the feathers don't distribute well even with lots of shaking. (This was true even before I washed it!) In our case, though, it works well since my husband is much warmer-blooded; I just put the thin feather side on his side of the bed.

  • Great Deal
    Verified Purchase

It took a few nights for the feathers to fluff up but it turned out to be quite a full comforter. It is very warm but not overly so. It looks great by itself of fits nicely in a cover. I really did shop around and I am very satisfied with my purchase. If you are on the fence in deciding, you won't be let down by this comforter.

  • Great comforter, too warm
    Verified Purchase

I thought this comforter was beautiful, and fluffed up great in a couple hours. when I held it up to the light, all the down was evenly distributed. But after using this comforter for a couple nights, I kept waking up because I was too warm! I hated to return it because it was like sleepy in a huge, fluffy, soft cloud, but a really hot cloud. I had the air conditioning set to about 62 degrees at night. I decided to get the Oversized 500 Thread Count Medium Warmth Siberian White Down Comforter which wasn't quiiiite as fluffy, but will be usable year round.

I really like the comforter, but the feathers seems to want to go to one end, wish they would stay even out more.

  • Still wonderful
    Verified Purchase

I have now had this comforter for three years and still absolutely love it. High quality and continues to look like new. I have a duvet cover on it, so there has been no need to have it cleaned. That is the only reason for the cover. This comforter looks good enough to be used alone.
