I loved everything about this comforter! It was warm and light and soft and no feathers were poking through!! The only thing you should note, is if you have a deep mattress, you will need to get a larger size comforter. I have a queen size bed, but the queen size comforter looked funny because it didn't cover the whole mattress. So I put the queen size comforter on my guest bed which is a full size mattress, then I purchased a new comforter in a size King for my bed! I love it!! :)

My comforter arrived a week or so ago and went right into a duvet cover after "breathing" several hours. My comforter looks exactly like the picture shown for the product. It plumps up about 2 inches and makes that nice crinkly sound when it moves around. This is not one of those luxurious hotel comforters that plump up a foot off the mattress. You didn't pay for that. You get a comforter that plumps up nicely-- 2 inches. It fits perfectly in a Queen size duvet cover I ordered as well. Since I have not owned it long, I have no idea how the baffling will hold up. I'd like to be able to write another review in a few months about this product, to let everyone know how it cleans and wears, but unfortunately we don't have that option. Just remember, it looks just like the photograph. 2 inch plump is about all you're going to get. I have no idea how it's going to wear for the winter season..

  • Go For it!

I'm loving this Down Comforter. Good Deal...Anyone who knows Down Comforters realizes that you can't do better than Overstock for quality Down products at VERY reasonable prices. Do your research before investing. I've seen comforters at double and triple the price in stores and on the web with less quality! Please remember. Even though it has a Beautiful 500 tc Fabric and is pristine to look at, KEEP A DUVET or COMFORTER COVER on it! When you invest in Down it isn't as important to have a real high fabric count. You'll be covering it anyway. You would want at least a 300 tc to keep it tight enough not to loose feathers. In order to save yourself dry cleaning bills and maintain the quality of the down, It has to be covered all the time or you'll have problems!!As much as we don't like to think about it, as Humans we naturally shed at night. Skin flakes, hair, nails, dirt, sweat plus moisturizers, deodorant even bodily fluids from our mouths, noses and ears. Sorry, I'm not trying to be gross, just realistically informative. Without a cover, down has a tendency to ABSORB, the moisture especially. Ive also seen people fold them up and stick them in a closet to store, or worse in a plastic bag where it can't 'breath'. The moisture can grow into mold. So now your beautiful investment will be yellowed and smell. Good Luck with that!So read what most Manufacturers recommend. From day 1, encase it in a Duvet Cover that fits. I prefer 100% cotton (Doing this will enable you to go 3-5 yrs before you would even need to spend the min. $25. to dry clean!) When you buy the duvet use your actual measurements, or a few extra inches is o.k. Remember they can shrink in either Hot water or the Dryer. I avoid both. Duvets are so versatile you can change your room's look weekly. When I lived in Europe, I began using the Duvets the way they do, as the 'top sheet'. They are made of sheet material to begin with, and it is so simple to make the bed up as well. I know all the info out there can be overwhelming. Probably the 1 thing you want to know is the 'Fill Power' Do you feel cold at night even with 2 reg blankets ? Do you live in a cold climate? I live in N.E. Prefer a fill power of 550 to 650. Also there is a difference between "White Goose Down" "Down& Feathers" "Duck or Waterfowl Feathers" Lastly,In the U.S.A. There is no such thing as "100% Down" It would be impossible to ensure that there wasn't 1 single feather mixed in the down.

  • All Season Comforter
    Verified Purchase

I've owned this comforter for almost six months, and it truly is an all-season comforter. It's light enough for summer use yet warm enough for winter. Even though it's listed as dry cleanable, I've washed the comforter in my home washer and dried it with three new tennis balls. It's come out great without losing hardly any down. I've been very happy with the comforter and would recommend it to anyone.

  • Great Buy
    Verified Purchase

This comforter was a great buy and is perfect for the guest room or as a gift. Plus, it was shipped by Overstock for free. My husband and I had purchased a more expensive goose down comforter made in Switzerland from Overstock for ourselves that had a lower thread count but higher loft. (Actually, some European goose down comforters cost upward to *** . But my best friend and her husband, who received this one as a gift from us, are very happy with this Siberian white down and said it was cozy and fluffy. I would recommend purchasing a duvet for it as well at the time of purchase. There is a wide selection on Overstock, and they are reasonably priced. Our favorite duvet for the white down comforter is the *** selection with buttons on the bottom. The King size falls about 12 inches on each side. I would also get a King size for a Queen size bed if you want a longer drop on each side and cuddle up in it.

  • This comforter is well worth the price!
    Verified Purchase

After search for more than a year for a down comforter I decided to purchase this in King for my queen bed. The fit is nice although a couple of more inches on the length would nice. The comforter is well made with the baffles sewn all the way around keeping the down in place. The stripe is subtle and pretty. The fabric is smooth with out being slick and has the luxury feel of expensive sheets.( one of my must haves). After allowing to air for 24 hours ( come on people this is an absolute requirement in down items) the loft is exactly what the picture shows! The slight odor of plastic dissipated with in a couple of hours! This comforter is definitely all season. By itself it's perfect for summer /fall,With a very light duvet cover ( the Milano three piece duvet set offered by overstock) it is definitely a winter blanket!) over all extremely pleased with this purchase!

I bought this king sized for my queen bed. It is plenty wide enough but is about 6 inches too short in length. I also didn't realize that it had to be dry cleaned which will be expensive.

  • Attractive and good for the price
    Verified Purchase

I bought the full/queen size about 5 or more years ago. It came as others say, fluffed up nicely to at least two if not three inches. My feathers were evenly distributed and stayed put. I did find it difficult to use with my duvet cover; it did not like to stay properly positioned in the queen size cover I have. Initially i had it dry cleaned but took a chance after a few years and washed on delicate and dried with tennis balls. It has always been soft and warm but still light enough for an air conditioned summer night. My kids all want one of their own. I now have a queen size bed (was usingg full when I purchased) I would prefer the king size to fully cover my 13" mattress. It only hangs about an inch or two over each side and looks kind of silly, like a bed toupee. The comforter has begun losing many feathers over the last few years but I question if that was in part due to my washing at home. I would buy another. I certainly got my money's worth out of this one. Also, my kids beg me for one of their own all of the time, even now that it has aged. I bought them less expensive versions and they complain they are not the same and prefer my old one over their newer fluffier ones. I think that says something. If they are the same today as when I first purchased mine and you can't afford or don't want to pay for a top shelf down comforter, I found this to be an attractive cozy alternative.

  • No loft
    Verified Purchase

I am very disappointed with the 'puffiness' (or lack thereof). I have left it out of the packaging for several days to puff up, and it still looks more like a blanket than a down comforter. I am returning it. I noticed on the product description that the fill power says 600 centimeters -- usually fill power is measured in (cubic) inches. Unless 'centimeters' is a typo on the description, the conversion for fill power would be less than 250 cubic inches -- which explains its lack of loft. Other comforters with 600 cubic inches of fill power are rated medium warmth or greater while this one is rated all-season. I think there is something sketchy with the description.

  • Perfect!
    Verified Purchase

I took a long time reading all the reviews for the various down comforters here and am happy I decided to purchase this one. I've had it for several weeks and here are my thoughts: Fabric quality: nice smooth 500 thread count, beautiful stripe design as I wanted Not a single feather has leaked or is even threatening to escape The warmth is perfect and even - goldilocks - not too hot, not too cold (I'm in Montana, so hard to keep a nice constant temp). I think this will be just fine in the summer months as well. The feathers are staying in their baffles, nice and fluffy loft I aired it out for several hours and fluffed it up when I took it out the packaging and no overwhelming odor. The piping and stitching are of top quality Not really oversized but I paid close attention to the dimensions and they were what I was looking for. If you want a comforter that hangs very well below your top mattress, buy one size up. I wanted mine to brush the top of my chocolate brown bedskirt so it was perfect for my standard queen bed (no pillowtop). I didn't want to use a duvet cover and this looks just like the bed in the photo. I was going for 5 star hotel look and got it! I priced equivalent at department stores and they were well over $150, so this value is unbeatable.

  • Down Comforter - an excellent value!
    Verified Purchase

I'm very pleased with the down comforter I purchased. I bought this item with my daughter's recommendation who bought a king-size one more than a year ago. Hers is still fluffy and comfortable as well as warm in the winter .... I find mine to be very comfortable and lightweight for summer use and I know it will be wonderfully cuddly warm this winter.

  • great comforter, but not exactly as advertised
    Verified Purchase

This is my first down comforter and it is so much nicer than the thick fabric comforters/heavyweight blankets that I've used in the past. The down makes the cover very light-weight, which makes it even more comfortable than I expected. I would definitely buy it again, though I wouldn't necessarily agree with its description as being ?all season?. With the A/C set at 75 degrees, I nearly broke out in a sweat once the outside temperature cooled enough to keep the system from coming on the first night that I used it. A ceiling fan set on high speed provided enough of a breeze to make it comfortable again. But, I have reservations about it being too warm for an NC summer and late spring. My sleeping bag, rated for 20 degree weather has less down filling than this comforter. But, I?ll have to wait until next year to find out, as it?s the fall now.My only other concern is with the sizing. I ordered a duvet at the same time, also from Overstock, that was supposed to be 2 inches larger than this comforter. Either Overstock sent me a king-sized comforter instead of a queen, or the comforter runs about a foot wider than its description of 88 inches. It still fit in the duvet ? pretty easily in fact. I simply shook it, as if fluffing it and it spread out in the duvet pretty evenly. There may be some bunching of the comforter inside around the edges, but I can?t tell by looking at it.I would give the perceived quality and value of the product high marks, only the description seems potentially misleading, at least for someone with as little experience with bedding as myself. Hope that helps.

  • No disspointment here!
    Verified Purchase

This is our first down comforter and we are very impressed with this one. The 500 thread count and baffle box construction keeps those feathers where they belong and the power fill rating means it is warm, but not too warm. It's a good choice for year-round use for us since we like to sleep warmly. It would be nice to find a duvet set to cover the comforter, but the subtle white-on-white pattern is handsome by itself. We will probably buy another one for our daughter and maybe one for the guest room...great price and fantastic value overall. You will not be disappointed with this comforter, it has the best bang-for-the-buck I could find in over 3 months of searching.

  • DON'T DO IT!!!!
    Verified Purchase

Wow. I'm speechless. Maybe I shouldn't be, though---my expecation is that down comforters are quite expensive, so the price of this thing seemed awfully low, but from the description and photo...I'd thought I'd give it a try. SO disappointed. I tried fluffing it in the dryer on "air" setting, and leaving it out to fluff as well. But I realized I was waiting for the impossible, because when you hold it up to the light...you can clearly see that some of the baffles have plenty of fill to give that one box a nice loft to it (like in the photo). But at least half the baffles have very little fill, you can see right through, and it's obvious from the visible amount of fill...those baffles will never fluff up. Seriously, a majority of the baffles are like having two sheets sewn together, with a handful of feathers added. There is no way they will ever fluff up...they are almost empty. TERRIBLE PRODUCT. I don't know where these reviewers that say this is a "dream bed" and so fluffy like a hotel comforter, are coming from. I can only assume that whoever makes this product either is very inconsistent, or maybe used contract manufacturers to produce these (since it's not a "name brand", in fact there is no name on it at all), and some come out with adequate fill in each baffle, and others don't..so it's luck of the draw. Either that, or these reviews are fake. Or lastly, the reviewers are delusional. Seriously folks...this product is two sheets sewn together, with a few cups of fill in some baffles, and those look and feel like expected...but the other baffles with maybe a cup of fill, that won't even spread out to fill the baffle one-feather thick. Going back in the box and getting returned, and I'm heading out shopping so I can actually see and touch what I'm buying...and I imagine I'll be paying much more than $$$ for a real down comforter.

I would definitely recommend the Oversized 500 Thread Count All Season Warmth White Down Comforter. I have had the comforter for only a few months but I really love it. It does exactly what it is supposed to do and that is keep you warm. Sometimes too warm! I bought a King Size comforter for my Queen size bed and it drapes over perfectly. I would definitely recommend this comforter to all my friends.

  • My favorite comforter!
    Verified Purchase

I love this comforter. It is perfect for every season. During the winter, I need to add a light blanket, but that isn't a problem. I have read some reviews that the fill isn't "filled" enough. But the more fill that is in it, the warmer it is, and defeats the purpose of an all season comforter. It's cozy all year. I have had some trouble with feathers flying, but I bought a duvet cover and it totally fixed the problem. It's easy to clean (with or without the duvet cover) and fluffs up nicely.

This comforter is outstanding. It took almost a full day for the down to get back to full form after being squished together to ship. The thread count and fill power are higher than some in store comforters that are more expensive. Very happy with this comforter!

  • Warm comforter for the South CA
    Verified Purchase

Warm comforter for the South California weather all year around. Please take in consideration the warning in the description: " recommend that this item is fluffed at least once a week to maintain down distribution". I fluff it actually on a daily base at least once and it keeps staying fluffed and with well distributed down / feather... I don't know how some reviewer complained about it be flat and thin. It's fluffy and thick enough for the price and 600 fill power. Good purchase for the price. Queen size is regular not oversized.
