Wonderful sheets! Purchased Ivory 1st, then sage. These sheets are great but do need a "breaking in time" as is the case with most high TC bedding. Because they are thick heavy sheets you really need to wash them probably a dozen cycles to start feeling just how soft they become. I have similar quality white sheets, also Egyptian cotton, they have been washed multiple times the past yr & now are sooooo!!!! soft. What you're paying for is the density of weaving, that's what "thread count" means, to those not accustomed to this they may seem heavy & even a little scratchy at 1st. Once broken in, you'll love them & sleep so well you'll never go back and they will last for many yrs, they are an investment. RE: wrinkling issue, 1st they are cotton, 2nd launder as recommended, 3rd dry top & bottom sheets separately with a tennis ball in the dryer (old trick) that keeps them from "balling up", 4th fold & stack nicely; this should smooth out most of the wrinkles. I alternate my linens, touch up top sheet/ pillow cases with iron & my bed always looks & feels WONDERFUL!!! Overstock is great, prices can't be beat & customer service is fab. Invest in these linens, you'll be glad you did (WHAT'S MORE IMPORTANT THAN OUR SLEEP?)
I originally bought a set of these sheets in Cal King Medium Blue. I loved them so much that I bought two sets of the matching King pillowcases, and another sheet set and two more pillowcase sets in the Sage color. The 1500 TC pillowcase colors match the 1500 TC sheets perfectly, and are as pictured. Both Medium Blue sheets and pillowcases are a saturated medium blue color, although the Sage color is slightly less saturated than the picture on my monitor shows. Both Med Blue and Sage feel and look to be very expensive and high-quality. The sheets are very deep, and easily fit my 14 inch mattress with a mattress pad underneath, with room to spare. But People, PLEASE DO YOUR RESEARCH before you buy high Thread Count sheets. Don't give low reviews, or waste your money, simply because you were ignorant of what you were ordering. High TC sheets start out being heavy and a little stiff when you first open the package, but they soften up by washing and using them. The higher the TC, the heavier the sheets, so these sheets are heavy. Lower thread count sheets will be initially more pliable and more "airy" feeling, because there are fewer threads per square inch, so they actually are more airy since there is more air between threads. If you like light weight, airy sheets, get low TC or cotton-blend sheets. Initial softness in cotton sheets depend on the quality of the cotton used, and whether they have been pre-softened before you buy them. Having your sheets pre-softened means that they are usually more expensive, because of the extra time and processes involved. These sheets have not been pre-softened, so we are able to buy them cheaper than you would otherwise. Also note that all cotton sheets, especially higher TC sheets, WILL WRINKLE and take more time to dry! If you have multiple sets, which I recommend, fold the other set when it comes out of the dryer, putting your folded pillowcases between the bottom and top sheets so the weight naturally presses them, and put the set away. When you take them out to change sheets, the folded set will have lost most of the wrinkles. By alternating sheet sets, and folding the unused set, you shouldn't have to iron your sheets. If you are still unsatisfied with your minor wrinkles, or if you only have one set, you can iron your sheets if it really bugs you. These particular sheets are beautiful and have held up well after washing. They are exactly what you would expect from 1500 TC sheets, will last forever, and are far less expensive on the big O than elsewhere.
I previously purchased a set of 1200 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and wanted a spare set, so I purchased these ones expecting to be a bit dissapointed after the weight and feel of my other set.
When these sheets arrived the first thing I noticed was the hemstich detail and the color - which is amazing! It is actually much richer than shown in the photo. My husband and I love the color so much, we have decided to paint it on our bedroom walls which are currently a red I have loved for years. This color is not ordinary terracotta, but a redder richer, deeper color. (Not at all orangy) Very lovely with my Asian themed bedding set.
These sheets have just a hint of a sheen and are very study. I love the extra deep pockets - we have a pillow top mattress with a pad on it and these sheets fit over everything with no hassle.
I love the feel of the sheets against my skin and we have found that we don't need a blanket when the evenings are cooler; still the sheets breathe and keep us cool on warmer nights.
Compared to the 1200 thread count set, I honestly see very little difference and honestly I prefer these because of the color - so the original set has been demoted to extra set status.
I can't tell you how happy I am with this sheet set. It is not only unbelievably soft and comfy but it also looks gourgeos on the bed. The fit is excellent and the color is exactly as shown. It is definitely worth spending extra for a higher thread count number. In fact I am going to purchase another set for myself.
When I first opened them, I wasn't sure About them. They looked really shiny and I hadn't realized that they had so much polyester in them but I decided to keep them. They looked better once I washed them. They are soft to sleep on and fit our deep mattress without riding up. They are a little slippery and sometimes the top sheet and coverlet slide off. Overall, they weren't what I expected but I am pleased that the polyester doesn't make them hot to sleep on.
Bad reviews can scare you away and there are so many variations on all these different types of sheet sets offered on overstock that I just had to take the plunge and pick one (well I order a 350 count one too). I'm a 30 something bachelor so I'm not too versed. I just know good comfort and to have nice sheets (thanks Mom). I ordered the grey cali-king set. My bed is a cali-king and is probably is 15+ inches deep. The sheets come in the typical plastic zipper package. The front tag reads "Andiamo Fine Linens, Ispirato en Italia per la casa, 500 thread count, 100% Egyptian Cotton - Single ply yarn, 15" Deep pockets fits mattresses up to 17" The back does read "Made in India" and "...500 threads per square inch"
With that said, I tried the sheet over my bed first to check the fit and was happy to see elastic all around and that it fit. I then immediately washed the sheets following the instructions. Although I missed the gentle cycle but will do that moving forward. There was very little lint in the lint screen before and looked no different after. The sheet has a nice sheen that remained after washing. Use some type of fabric softner. I think a few of these complainers don't know how to wash clothes. And bathe your skin before hitting the nice clean sheets. Makes no sense hopping in the bed on clean sheets with your skin from a day of activities. After drying on low heat, you will definitely have to iron the wrinkles out if you're a stickler for that. I'm not. I just wanted to go to bed. The sheets are soft people!...and comfortable. I usually am up late but I was knocked out by 930p and missed the rest of MNF after getting in these sheets. They are not thin and not thick. Just right for me, because I am typically warm. I can probably just sleep in them without a comforter even into the winter months for a little while. No pilling ocurred so far.
These are good sheets. Maybe it's helped by my pretty awesome bed and vice versa. You have to take a chance somewhere though. Glad I did. I recommend!
I received this in white - so no problem as mentioned with bleeding - the elastic is all around - the material is extremely soft - it is light weight - have only washed and dried it once - so far so good
I purchased these sheets a month back and am very happy with them. They are really soft and wash well. If you make it a point to fold them as soon as they are out of the dryer, you can avoid any wrinkles. This is a tip I learned in one of the reviews earlier. Apart from this its an amazing set of sheets.
Yes I do buy my items by peoples reviews, after reading if this is what I'm looking for, I go right down to the reviews. So to the people who read these, it's a wonderful feeling sliding into these sheets and putting your head down. I'm surprised it's only a 300 thread count, feels better. I got the mocha, maybe could be an expresso, it's a little hard to see because it's between 2 other dark colors. So even after I washed it, all the color was there. Can't wait to pick out next color!
I'm extremely happy with the comfort of the sheets, light and soft, super comfortable. The color is fine, I don't know excited one can get about color - it's light blue, it looks like I'd expect light blue to look. My one issue is that we've gotten a couple of small tears already in the fabric. It's from our dog jumping up onto the bed, so if that's not a possibility in your home due to doglessness, no reservations on these sheets, go for it. We've had plenty of sheets before that the dog has jumped on many, many, many times, despite my repeated requests to her to not do so, and those other random fitted sheets didn't develop holes in under a month of use, so I'd caution about the durability of these, especially if you have pets that can not stay off the bed.
I was leery to buy these sheets at first because the first two reviews I saw rated them poor, but then I read on in the reviews. The rest of the reviews were very pleased to rave so I took a chance - and I am THRILLED I did. These are 400ct Egyptian cotton sheets and that is what I expected.
I think the other reviewers expected 400ct. to feel like 800 or 1000ct. These are good quality and I experienced no 'pilling' even after 4 washes. I waited to write this review until after several washings ( I was suspect of the poor reviewer because high thread count sheets do not pil - the weave is way to tight to allow it. I have had blankets pil before but never sheets).
The color is rich, deep and vibrant. I bought the Hunter green and am back to order another set. The color has not faded. I wash in cold water and dry on low heat. Very pleased with the price and the quality. I do not hesitate to recommend these. Exactly as I expected 400ct. sheets to be; Medium weight, tight weave, they get softer after each wash, no fading in color. These will last many, many years.
I really like these sheets, they breath for cooling comfort.. BUT! They shrink, most noticed with the pillow case. The pillow case shrank so much it's too small for a queen size pillow, the end sticks out. Need king pillow cases for queen pillows.
I use these in every house I stage. They are my little secret - they cost hundreds of dollars at retail outlets here in the city. I would highly recommend these. Super soft, embroidery is good, no loose threads, wash well.
I am glad overstock gives us the options to write a review on items purchased because 90 percent of my ordering is online and I do pay attention to the reviews, in fact a bad review if too many of the same complaint makes my decision on my purchase. As far as these sheets, they are wonderful! I remember reading reviews and the only thing a few people commented on in any negative way is that they wrinkle, I was thinking to myself you have got to be kidding me!! We just moved into a home and trying to watch money, my brother had given me his California King bed, which meant buying sheets, comforter the whole nine yards! Knowing that a good sheet at that size was going to run me at least 80 dollars, I went to overstock.com. I got two sets of these sheets for under the price of one set at other stores. The color matched perfectly with the picture on the site. As far as wrinkling, well I washed them before I put them on my bed, they did not get wrinkled until I laid on them, lol
Thank you again overstock.com! I will continue to buy from you!
these sheets are really from egyptian grown cotton , and are made in India . they do not have any weird chemical smell to them (as the ones made in china do) . they are possibly hand sewn/made . the sheets are soft , and the peach color is very pleasant . (rare to find egyptian cotton in peach color , or even a nice pink)
the only caveat is - fabric somewhat thin . it is possible they may rip after some use . i have returned them , would like something more durable .
