Merino maybe a stretch...
This blanket was cheap for a wool blanket, made in China...you really get what you pay for. It had that petro smell that I associate with blankets from South America, I've never been sure what that is but assume it will fade. I'm using this as an insert for a duvet so it really does not matter to me that it is a little itchy compared to what I consider Merino wool..Also~not being washable, using it as an insert makes the most sense, Again, it was remarkably cheap for a 100% wool blanket so I am pleased.
