Story Behind the Art:
I have built my career step by step. I started by asking my neighbors to come to my place to look at my collection.My name is Desak Nyoman Parwati and I was born in Bali on October 3 1972. I learned how to make batik from Desak Putu Nithi, in 1989. When I worked with her, she taught me many things about textiles and hand-painting batik. The thing I like about her is her dedication to her work and her concern for the people working with her. On March 5, 2000, I started my own art workshop.I create various kind of dresses from hand-painting batik textiles. I get the inspiration from the model magazines. I take some designs I like from magazines and adapt them to the Indonesian culture. I work with rayon, cotton, linen, and crinkle cloth to make the dresses. For the coloring I use sulfur and remasol color. I have built my career step by step. I started by asking my neighbors to come to my place to look at my collection and place orders if they like it. Now, there's so much to do I need the help of several assistants! High thanks to what Novica is doing in promoting artists to the whole world, especially artists from Bali.

Beautiful robe! Colors are so vibrant and the material is very comfortable. I would've given it 5 stars, but one of the belt loops tore off as soon as I threaded the belt through. I was able to see it back on, though.
This is one of my very favorite robes ever!!!! I love out lightness of it. This is my go to on my off days. It's perfect for everything. It washes well but I let it air dry. I added a close up to show that the colors are still very vibrant!!!
Quality is really good. It took over a month to be delivered, when it had been quoted to be about 5 days. Fabric is high quality and you can tell it was made with quality in mind. The fabric is more "magic sorcerer" than I anticipated, but I don't mind. Overall, good product.
Lovely colors in this generous 'one size fit all' style robe. The batik design is free flowing graduating in colors from the palest of blues to deep azures. Side in-seam pockets are perfect, yet lie flat within the seam. I was so impressed I ordered a number of the batik robes in various colors as gifts. Washes well, without any noticeable shrinkage or ironing necessary. Thanks again Overstock for finding such lovely robes, at such an excellent price!
I bought 4 of these, and kept them all. I am 5'6" and they hang to the lower leg. If you like the original length, wash in cold water, then do not dry with heat. If you want a little shorter or smaller, wash warm and dry with heat. I have been washed each one more than once and the color does not fade.

I've had this robe for over three years now and it still looks great. The colors never faded, it is unique, soft, comfortable and flattering.
The robe color was totally off. Unlike the picture, it was predominantly dark brown and green, not blue.
Love the robe. The color is not quite as pictured but it's a pretty color. It's very roomy, which is what I was wanting.
I wear this beautiful batik robe around my home or over my pants with out the belt as a long coat. Bali clothing is unique, versitile and comfy. I will buy more in the future, I have two and they wash without fading or bleeding into other clothes, easy to care for, great for vacations and they usually last forever. It is like wearing colorful art designs for everyone to enjoy.
