Down and feather-filled products are packaged tightly during shipping. Upon receipt, remove this item from its packaging, fluff gently, and allow several hours for full loft recovery. In addition, products sealed in plastic packaging sometimes have a disagreeable scent because of concentrated natural fibers. A few hours of airing typically removes the odor.

We recommend that this item is fluffed at least once a week to maintain down distribution.

We have had this comforter thru 3 seasons and it keeps your body temp just right for a comfortable nights sleep. We do dress it up with duvets for each season; but it is a great product by itself. We highly recommend this , you will love it.

This is a repurchase of Eddie Bauer Comforter, I have had one for ten years and wanted to replace it. We loved it so much, not too heavy or light, warm and comfy, can wash if needed, just the perfect down comforter that I looked for same kind I had for ten years to replace! Our old one going on spare bed, because it is still useable.

    • Warm but noisy
      Verified Purchase

Great comforter, I hope it fluffs up a little bit more over time. But I will note that it makes a lot of noise! Its probably the coating on the comforter to keep the feathers in but it definitely makes a rustle-y noise when I move it. Just FYI.

took me a while to actually buy one of these guys, was looking everywhere online, educating myself in all the comforter glory. Was mainly looking in HSN and here and finally decided on this gem, I owned a previous down comforter in the past, my ex girlfriend handed it down to me, being from Guatemala a down comforter is unheard of, so to my surprise during the most hated winters that NJ brings I was engulfed in heat, like a wild animal in his comfy nest, there I layed, sleeping past my wake time, being late to work, the good old start of the 20s, now as an older more mature adult I figure why not, give this a try. So I did and Ive been very happy and blessed. Its been an awesome experience getting to know all the little quirks that make a bed. Im a professional when it comes to displaying my bed, the ladies love it but most importantly I love it. After long days at work I see my bed, looking so beautiful I jump in there and during the cold nights I dont suffer. Loving it!

I've owned 4-different Goose Down Comforters, and I believe this one to be the best. I've paid 4X as much for one, and the outstanding feature of this comforter is the density and strength of the cover, while be soft and supple at the same time. I don't see this comforter developing small holes in a few years allowing the down to billow out every time it moves a certain way. Additionally, it's warm yet it breathes so you don't overheat. Paired with a 600 and up thread count Duvet and you can't go wrong

I purchased this to be used as a non-winter comforter. Our winter comforter is just too warm for the other 3 seasons. This is a nice 3-season comforter. At 700 fill its not the loftiest or the lightest but its not 550 either. Its a little dense and heavy... sorry hard to describe. Boxes are smaller than most - which is good as it prevents down shifting and cold spots. Its affordable and decent - I'm happy.

    • Heavier than expected
      Verified Purchase

Quite more substantial than anticipated. Almost too heavy for summer use. Definite 4 season comforter for inland Southern California. Only complaint is a crinkly sound to fabric...but no escaping feathers or shifting so far (after several months constant use).

This is a great comforter. I swapped out my heavier quilt that I use in cooler weather for a lighter summer version and this is perfect. We have a standard king bed and the oversized option is nice in that all sides of the bed are amptly covered and it reduces the chance of cover wars.

    Questions & Answers

    • Q:

"Is the damask cotton shell smooth or soft and silky to the touch or does the variegated pattern cause it to feel rough?"

      • A:

Smooth and silky=)) was a little too warm for California summers unless the AC was on 60, lol! but looking forward to it this fall and winter we get chilly willy!.

      • A:

Its very soft and silky. Much lighter than I thought and not as fluffy but still very comfortable and warm.

    • Q:

"I would like to know if the cover is soft or make crispy noises when using and if is thick enough for California winters. Also if the down is coming out."

      • A:

Hi Giorgia, The fabric is a jacquard, so a bit heavier than some other down comforters I have had. It doesn't make crispy noises and I have not had a single feather work it way out. I live in Montana, and it has been perfect this summer, most nights in the 40's to low 50's. I will get a duvet for it for winter use with an additional blanket. I don't know much about CA winters, but if you live where it stays quite warm, I would think it would work for winter, maybe with a duvet over it with just your sheet. Hope this has helped out. I really like this comforter and would buy it again. Susan ****

      • A:

The comforter is soft but on very cold nights, you may need a blanket.

      • A:

I gave it to my 27 year old son for Christmas. He says it is super soft and fluffy, does not crackle (we know what you mean) and that feathers come out occasionally. He also says they stay where they are supposed to. We are not sure about California winters. We get some pretty cold days in Houston, from January to March and it will be freezing temps for a few days, but most of the time we wear shorts. He keeps his house freezing, and says the comforter is very warm. He also said this comforter is better than the $600 one I bought him that he had for years and years. I hope this helps.

      • A:

Top quality! no down is coming out.

    • Q:

"Is this 100% goose down filling with no feathers?"

      • A:

Yes, and it breathes quite well.

      • A:

Yes it is, Eddie Bauer is an excellent brand - this is the 2nd one I have owned. It will take a couple of days to fluff up completely and you should fluff it regularly.

    • Q:

"The oversize Queen comforter should be sufficient for the proper hang over."

      • A:

Mine just covers the mattress..if you want it to hang over more like a bedspread you might consider a king size.

      • A:

What size are the squares on the comforter?

      Read more Read less
    • Q:

"Will the queen size completely cover an extra padded mattress and hang over the sides? Or should I get a King size for a Queen bed?"

      • A:

I suggest a king size. Mine just barely but sufficiently covers my regular mattress.

      • A:

I agree. I took a photo of our king comforter on a queen sized bed but I cant get it to attach here. The queen mattress with 3" topper total 16". The king comforter comes to just meet the mattress bottom and box spring top. If you have a bed skirt it would just meet.

      • A:

Christal M, you can attach photos to reviews! If you wouldn't mind, that might be helpful to attach it there at least.

      • A:

I followed other people's advice and the King is definitely the way to go if you want absolute coverage for a pillow top queen. I don't remotely believe a queen would pass the edges of my mattress.

    • Q:

"I have had to return comforters because the material is crinkly. Does this one have a soft outer material?"

      • A:

Although I love this it is not the softest for sure.

      • A:

        It's definitely crinkly.

      • A:

I believe softness and "crinkly" are two different aspects of texture. If I understand your question, "crinkly" would be stiff, and a sound. I have had other comforters like that which I also do not like . Soft is a texture like jacquard velour. The texture of this comforter is not "soft" nor is it "crinkly", it is smooth. It does not make any sound when you move.

      • A:

I have to agree with Christal M. The comforter is not crinkly in sound. I use a comforter cover on mine from Eddie Bauer and that changes the texture of the comforter. The EB comforter covers fit perfectly and there are many different types. I have a flannel one for the colder months and a lighter weight one for the warmer months. So, you can change the texture with a cover but no, it is not crinkly in sound.

      • A:

Yes, this comforter is made of cotton and will be soft, and it does have very good reviews.

      • A:

It is cotton. How soft can it Be? Kathy

      • A:

It is soft and I do not have issues with crinkling. Also, a few washes will help...my comforter is quite soft now and very comfortable.

    • Q:

"Would this be too warm for SW Florida? It's says lightweight but I see so many reviews saying it is very warm."

      • A:

It's really warm. We live in the mountains and keep our heat at 62 at night and it is almost too warm.

      • A:

If you use air conditioning you'll be fine. Almost nightly I throw the covers off till I cool off. But the covers are so air like, I love pulling them back on. You'll love it!

      • A:

It is warm but. Sleep in a cold room. I live n boca.

      • A:

ALL down comforters are going to be warm, however the feathers allow breathing and help to manage your body temperature. I live in AZ and use mine in the fall/winter months. We change to a light bedspread in the summer because, well AZ summers are HOT.

    • Q:

"Because this is an oversized comforter, is it difficult to find a duvet cover to fit it?"

      • A:

Nope - it fit my regular king-sized duvet, no problem.

    • Q:

"do you happen to know where I can find the floor lamp in this picture?"

Here is what we have: https://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Floor-Lamps/33/subcat.html?keywords=floor%20lamps&searchtype=Header

    • Q:

"What is this filled with? What does the comforter tag say, Down or Goose down? Is it fiber fill or goose feathers?"

      • A:

        It's all down. No fiberfill.

    • Q:

"Does this have loops on each corner to tie to a comforter cover?"

      • A:

        Yes it does!

      • A:

No. I think that Only the Really expensive down comforter have them. Ask a local fabric store how to make &!add them to you down comforter. They are very helpful!! Emperez

"WHAT IS THE WIDTH OF OVERSIZED KING."

      • A:

        Oversized King: 108 inches H x 98 inches W/ 30 ounces

    • Q:

"Is this a baffle-box design which means it has walls in each box to allow down to loft, but not every box is completely stitched through, as a "box stitch design" would be? I prefer that the down won't be able to move around from one box to the other"

      • A:

This comforter does have baffle-boxes. The down doesn't shift outside the boxes and it remains lofty. I purchased the Eddie Bauer duvet cover in king size to go with this king size comforter. The sizing fits perfectly without any excess duvet material to make it look sloppy. It looks great and performs wonderfully! For this being a "light" down comforter it is very warm. I also have washed this comforter in a top loading household washer and dried it in a front loading household dryer with no problem. When drying it you will want to shift it around several times throughout the cycle.

    • Q:
