I bought this burgundy duvet cover, a 630 thread count Egyptian cotton sheet, and another 600 thread count Egyptian cotton sheet from overstock. Of the three, this one feels like its in a whole new class of smoothness. This duvet cover is smoother than any sheet/duvet cover I have ever felt, there are no stripes on it, the brand is Luxor, the color looks like the burgundy in the pic, and the shams have a crease where the pillow inserts in middle of the sheet on one side. Alot of people here are complaining of the shams, I don't see anything wrong with them. As for the actual duvet cover... Wow!!! It feels like a luxurious satin sheet, but has the crispness and coolness of a high quality cotton. So good infact I went to a department store to feel other 600 count sheets to confirm the legitmacy of my other purchases. Nothing in the store, except the the fancy 200 dollar 1000 thread counts felt quite as nice as these. This is a must buy, I have no idea where these other reviewers are getting their information or what sheet they received. All I know is I purchased 3 sheets/duvet covers at one time from overstock and this one could run smoothness circles around the other two.
No reviews on this when I bought it, so I was a little concerned. However, it was the only low priced solid white duvet in cotton. I am well pleased with the quality, size, make, fabric. No complaints - just like the one at Porto Fino resort in Belize. It's for the beach vaca themed guest room. Now I need all the accessories Overstock!
This is a beautiful, expensive looking & feeling duvet cover. Fabric has a beautiful sheen & soft drape.. The duvet & sham (I got twin size w/ one sham) are well constructed. Others have noted the willow green being a bit different from what is pictured. I would describe it as a light, sagey green that is a bit brighter and less grayish toned than many ¿sage greens.¿ It is a nice, neutral color that would go with just about anything. You will need to press duvet & sham/s before using as there are significant creases from being folded, plus you¿ll need to press out the flanges that are shmooshed & wrinkly so they¿ll be nicely squared off. The shams are the type that open across the middle of the back (unlike some others that open on the side and have buttons). The hem stitching on the duvet goes on 3 sides (not across the top, where pillows would cover it anyway) of the ¿top side.¿ The top end is where the button closure is The underside is plain, without the hem stitching; there are two potential looks with this duvet ¿ with or without the hem stitching. When I need to wash mine, I intend to launder it in warm water and will always dry it on my drying rack (away from sunlight to keep from bleaching it by the sun). Doing so will prolong the life of it greatly, as being beaten in the dryer is hard on all things. This is my first experience w/ a duvet, but I think I¿ll love it because I love the flexibility of putting a heavy quilt inside or something light for warmer weather, and being able to launder the outer cover. I just read last week that vapors from dry cleaning are potentially unhealthy, so I love being able to wash the duvet cover and getting to protect blankets from dust and body oils, etc. I will note that getting the blanket & quilt inside is quite the chore, but I don't mark it against this duvet: I think it's just the nature of the beast, as they say. Getting the blankets down in there is quite a task. There may be an easier way to do it, but I struggled quite a bit to get mine in. Also, if a person is looking for that crisp, perfectly neat look, I don't think a duvet cover would be a good choice for them because it just has that slightly rumpled look. Sort of European. I am fine with it, but just want to make that point to someone who has never used a duvet cover. I put my willow duvet w/ an ivory colored bed skirt and it looks beautiful. Understated elegance.
I am, as the title says, very happy with this set. It's very shabby chic and light and fluffy. The fabric is very thin so it's not the highest quality, but to get everything that's in the package for this price, it's to be expected. The cushions are very smushed because of how they came in the package, but I think they'll fluff up after a few days. I actually didn't even realize that this came with euroshams so I was very excited to see those in the bag. It has several shades of blue so if you're trying to work with any sort of blue shade it is likely that this will work. The white fabric is very true bright white and the lace detail is like a beige antique looking shade. The darker blue pattern also has very, very faint hints of yellow in it.
I LOVE this duvet cover. I am a fan of upscale hotels, and this cover makes me feel like Im sleeping in a *** every night! It is seriously chic and stylish, soft and high quality. I have other *** covers that cost the same as this and they are only 300 threadcount, and for the same price you can get this 1000 threadcount set. I LOVE IT. The only complaint is that it doesnt have internal ties to keep the duvet in place, so I just sewed some shoelaces in each inside corner and it works like a charm! I am IN LOVE WITH MY BED. YOU MUST BUY THIS!!
The color is fabulous, I ordered the blue and the chocolate. I found them to be exactally as pictured. The flannel is very soft and has been washing well, I followed directions exactally and will continue to do so. I place this cover on a light weight down comforter and got exactally what we wanted. There are ties on the inside corners to hold the comforter in place. It is extremley soft and very cozy and warm. If you want soft flannel with warmth this is it. Consider the type of washing machine you will be using, if you don't have a front loader but a machine with an aggitator it can really put extra wear on this and make it's life shorter...
This duvet cover is great. It is very thick, and very heavy... which should be expected for 1200 thread count. After a couple of washes, the duvet is very soft, and luxurious. My favorite feature of the duvet cover is the fact that there is no seam at the top of the cover. There is an openeing on the bottom (which closes with buttons) and two seams up the side, but none at the top. Which means, this is one piece of fabric. Not "top and bottom" pieces that are sewed together around the edges. Love it.
The material and color(gold) are wonderful. It has a great sheen to it and feels real quality. I have other 1500TC Egyptian cotton which is softer but not as heavy/thick as this material. It also seems to get softer with washing. I've found washing this high TC Egyptian cotton not a problem and simply hang it to dry without ironing. Ironing will probably make it more uniform/smooth, but be careful not to burn it !
The size of king size is very generous - I managed to comfortably (no pun intended!) fit a super king size duvet inside this cover - it's that big ! I used Canadian goose down as I don't like to compromise!
Some might think this material feels too hard and stiff (like canvas) but it's warmth and quality are what I want. It's also real heavy material - you'll feel it's weight from when you first receive it, to when you're under it in bed. It makes me think of parachute material?, it's that strong/solid. This material breathes and insulates really well. You won't be cold in bed again with this material. I've bought all my Egyptian cotton from the USA ( I live in the UK) - which shows how good it is, and this Egyptian cotton is the heaviest I've come across.
This material makes you feel like a King/Queen in bed. Life's too short to miss out on this quality. It's a fraction of the price of similar bedding at Harrods (London), probably better quality and there's more color choices. Quality without paying for an exclusive brand name.
Wish I had purchased sooner before color choices ran out! Very Very happy with the moss. Love the beautiful sheen, soft smooth silky feel and not too heavy! Really dresses up my bed! Washes great, no complaints! We have 2 Mini Bull Terriers that sleep on top of the bed. So durabiltiy is a MUST!! This duvet washes and wears GREAT!! I can't be any more pleased!!
I ordered this in sage and love the color and the feel. I was looking for something a bit heavier, but is still soft and that is what I got. I have washed it twice and have had no problems except one button on the duvet came off, which is no big deal.
No flaws, looks very nice, quite affordable. Pillow covers get a tad wrinkly in the dryer but I wanted a duvet cover that I could throw in the wash with lots of bleach and have it hold up. Has lived up to my expectations.
I have a Cal King bed with a large down comforter that has always been hard to care for because it is white & difficult to clean. This Duvet Cover was my first purchase from Overstock.com & it is wonderful! The subtle stripe pattern on the gray looks very upscale, like something from a hotel. The hand-feel of the cotton fabric is soft & thick with with a nice smooth texture. I haven't washed it yet but I washed the shams & they didn't shrink, warp, or fade. I took one star off for the seams where the button closure is: they are slightly uneven & there were still small chalk marks for where the buttons were sewn on (from the production I guess). I'm sure they will wash off. All in all, this was exactly what I was looking for & the price is stellar. Just a small note: If you have a Cal King Bed with a pillow-top mattress, the duvet cover will not drape over the sides down to the boxspring.
I wanted a simple, good quality, lightweight cover for my duvet. I ordered this one in ivory, and it's just right. The swiss dot pattern goes well in my shabby chic bedroom. When I see "swiss dot," I think of the fabric with fuzzy dots that my Easter dresses were made of, but this is more of a windowpane pattern.
I don't like sateen -- crisp, cool, 100% cotton percale for me -- but good percale is hard to find, so I took a chance on this set and am very pleased. After laundering, it has only a slight sheen.
Speaking of laundering, it was a little wrinkly out of the dryer, but while it was still warm, I took it straight to the bed and smoothed it out. That helped, but I did decide to iron it, at least this first time out. The fabric is nice, and I think wrinkles will become less of a problem in time. Well-made, a good buy.
I want to say too that I appreciate everyone who takes a minute to post a review -- your experiences and opinions help me very much in my buying decisions.
I am usually reluctant to purchase HOME good online - I'm a touch-and-see kind of gal - I'm thrilled to have made this purchase. First off, while many comforters these days are cheap made, often undersized with debatable colors and claims, this one keeps its promises: 1. rich, elegant color (who knew burnt orange was a neutral?) Seriously, this color goes with so much except the palest palette - think, for example, mint green, light pink, and any yellow. It's much at home with deep, jewel tones, such as turquoise, grape purple, acid green as it is with safer tans/beiges, and would appeal to men and women. 2. sizing! The overall length dimension not only fits a deep-pocket, king-sized bed generously, it offer approximately 8" to spare. I deducted 1% because I would have preferred a tad more width, but that's just me. There's plenty of side fabric to cover a deep-pocket mattress and reach the top edge of the box spring. 3. design - the top edge of the cover has a smooth, good-quality zipper that allows you to easily remove and.replace the insert. Pillows have the same zipper detail. 4. From afar, texture looks like rich linen.. Up close, it's has polyester's feel ( - 1%), which makes me kind of shudder. No, I'm not a fabric snob. I've just detested the feel of polyester since childhood. On the upside, it's a cinch to wash and dry, and looks just as nice after washing as it did out of the bag. Oh, it's been impervious to the shenanigans of two cat's and a new puppy, and shows no pulls or loose threads. 5. Snob/External feedback: every single person who's seen the bedroom rehab has kind of drawn a breath and said something to the effect of "Omg. I totes love the new bedding. It makes the room look so elegant. I'm SO jealous of you and your amazing style." Okay, while they haven't said that in exact words, I can read beneath the lines. This is the first review I've ever written online, and for a good reason. Don't let polyester or orange color aversion keep you from ordering this item - I'm 98% confident you'll love it!
I purchased the sage green and it's actually quite soft and looks great, but it's way too big for my 88x88 down comforter. I figured there would be a 2 inch discrepency but it's more like a foot. I've been meaning to measure both my comforter and the duvet but just haven't gotten around to whipping out the measuring tape. I would still highly recommend this pima cotton duvet as I'm finding it very difficult to find any bedding that is not sateen. Sateen feels great and looks nice if you like shiny things but do not be fooled, there's a strong chance it will pill. Although depending on the thread count(higher the better) they could fall off after some wear. I don't believe this duvet will pill even though it appears to also be a sateen weave as it does have a silky shine. It's thicker than I expected making my already warm down comforter almost too hot and I live in New England, but it's not too thick it's just sturdy. I washed it and folded out of a hot dryer with no real problems of wrinkling. Now I'm on the hunt for a red duvet that's smaller and not sateen...wish me luck. HINT: always button the duvet outside in so the buttons are on the inside, this seems to lessen the chances of them becoming loose or falling off.
There were a number of conflicting reviews which I read before I purchased this duvet cover & I read every single one good and bad. The majority of people loved the duvet cover with a few exceptions so those were the reviews that I was most interested in. I will have to say that the few people that did not like it are not into color & design as the people that gave it a good review. Their main complaint was that the color was a lot darker than shown in the photo. No color is going to be truly accurate on a computer & their monitors are probably set to a darker version. There was just a shade difference in the duvet cover from what I saw on the monitor. When it arrived just a few moments ago. I opened the package & I will have to say that I was so happy to see that it is a French Blue as the description said not a dark color as some reviews mentioned. Also one person said that the branches looked cartoonish. That is absolutely false - they do not. They are as pictured in the photo & they are a striking contrast against the blue & they are beautiful. Someone also said it looked cheap - I have been decorating homes for many, many years & the duvet cover certainly does not look cheap or I would return it. It looks absolutely beautiful in my blue & white bedroom & I would recommend this lovely duvet cover to anyone who likes an elegant & striking design. I have purchased many items from Overstock over the last few years & have always been very happy with their products & will certainly order from them again in the future.
The duvet cover is beautiful and very well made. There are zippers (invisible seam) sewn at the top and bottom of the duvet making it easy to insert a comforter. The fabric is very high quality. I highly recommend this product.
I purchased this king size duvet cover in grey about three months ago and I have been very happy with it. The checkered pattern gives it just enough to make it more interesting than a pure solid fabric. The slight sheen and the thickness of the fabric make it look very classy on the bed. I would call the grey a nice neutral, silvery grey. It definitely doesn't have a taupe tint like some greys do, nor does it lean toward a green tint as I have also seen. It fits wonderfully in our bedroom with grey blue walls and a medium blue rug.
It seems pretty durable so far. We have two cats (who like to chase each other up and over the bed) and a dog that is occasionally allowed to come up on the bed for a few minutes, and the cover is holding up to all of that wonderfully. My old solid cottony duvet cover used to have scratches all over it from where the cats had run across it, but this cover is showing no signs of that. It also doesn't seem to grab and hold onto fur; I think the fabric weave is pretty nice and tight.
I would say the fabric is relatively heavy. I put the cover over the bedspread we already had (until I could buy a new down alternative insert), and it definitely made the bedspread feel hotter. The two challenges I've found so far are the lack of ties in the corners to help hold a duvet insert in place, and the size. At 106" wide and 92" long, it's quite possible that it will be too large for some king duvets, as many seem to range from 100"-104"; definitely measure your duvet first before ordering. I'm making sure to find the widest insert possible so it fully fills out the cover. The benefit to this size is that it really will cover your king bed with some overhang on both sides.
Received these the other day in hunter green and love them. They washed well, and are not a lint or cat hair magnet. The cotton is soft and the dark green is a warm, dark, natural plant color that seems to match any sheet set. They're thick enough and the comforter has ventilation. I'm very happy with this duvet set and I recommend them.
This duvet is exactly as shown only it lights up the room even more!!
It isn't very heavy so it's perfect for spring & summer weather. The material is very soft but good quality.
Very Pleased with it. I love walking into my bedroom!
I was a little skeptical buying this from reading a couple of the reviews, but I have bought several things from Overstock in the past and have not been disappointed except for one occasion because the color was not true-to-color as pictured. I just got this today, washed it, and put my oversized comforter (which I also bought from this sitet) today. The fabric is soft and quality is good for the price; I ordered linen and it is true-to-color as pictured. If you are expecting the same microfiber texture as the microfiber sofas, I think you will be disappointed. It is microfiber but it looks and feels similar to sateen sheets, maybe not as shiny. I'm happy with my purchase.
I ordered this for my beach vacation house master bedroom. The design is a stylized sea urchin -perfect for a beach/shore theme. The color as shown on the internet photo is true to the actual color - very soft and dreamy. The description of the color is "purple" but I would describe it more as a light blue/purple background with taupey-purple accents. My walls are painted a light blue (with purple understones) and this matches perfectly. The sheeting fabric has a lovely sheen and is very soft. The pillows and eruo shams are a heavier fabric - a cotton duck that has good weight and body for a crisp look. Once again, Overstock.com has delivered!
I purchase this duvet cover set online after I ordered 2 different ones from a known department store line. The sizes from the department store were way off and didnt look like the pictures I had seen on line. This duvet coverlet fit my King size bed with some extra to share since my husband likes to steel the covers. It not to hot when you sleep under it. I really like it because I can put a light weight blanket in it later if I need to. The only slightly negitive thing is the color. it is a little pink (er) than I wanted but a previous blog told me this also. It actually pulls the pink color out of my
background colors in my comfortor pillows. Great buy for the money
Got these because of the price (value for money) and also because we didn't want a higher thread count. Higher thread count cotton (500+) feels more like satin than cotton, and is also too cold for winter. This is soft, snuggly, and it does get warm quickly. However the fabric is very slightly fuzzy, and as a result it attracts every bit of lint, cat hair and fiber like velcro. We made the mistake of getting it in white, which looks nice at first, but now that all the bits of fuzz from our fleece blanket are sticking to it, it doesn't look so great. If that's an issue in your house, you might want to choose another color. As for it being reversible, the striped side is much nicer than the plain side. By the way, if you use comforter clips on the corners, it keeps your comforter from sliding around inside.
Item is true to the color on the photo, very soft, and just beautiful. It is very wrinkly though out of the bag....so I ironed it. And it just got seriously wrinkled again. Don't buy if if you don't like wrinkles. But all in all, you can't beat what you get for the price.
I am really happy with this purchase! I bought the duvet cover in the Grey color, and it's exactly as pictured. It has a nice subtle sheen. The fabric has a nice weight, but isn't too heavy - just as expected for 400 TC. It was as soft and smooth after washing as when I took it out of the package, and it retained its color without any fading (I followed the washing directions exactly). It's the perfect size for my oversized king down comforter. I love climbing into bed and covering up with this. Wish I could've bought the matching sheets, but unfortunately they don't come in the color I wanted. The only drawback I've found is that I washed it twice to get the smell of the manufacturing chemicals out (in our brand-new HE washer), and I could still smell them.
I was pleased with the cotton duvet when I received it (very quickly) with the exception of the color as it was a bit darker than I expected. But, for the price, I can live with the darker color! After ironing everything up, I placed my comforter in the duvet and pillows in the shams and my bed looks elegantly dressed for such an extremely reasonable price! I have used the set for about a month now and had expected the duvet to wrinkle easily, but it does not! This set was definitely a good bargain, just like I've found many times at overstock.com.
This duvet cover feels heavenly, it's soft and when a nice warm blanket is nestled between its folds it warms you and feels like it's been on your bed for years (without the wear and tear and stains, of course!). However, the titanium is simply a light taupe, so we were disappointed a little bit with that (small children, you know it's going to be stained sooner than later - sigh), but it truly is a lovely colour and has just a hint of sheen, and the quality is definitely a great value for the price. I love it.
After reading the reviews, Im slightly in shock that some are surprised about wrinkles after getting it out of the dryer, wow - its damask - thats kind of understood, and also if you iron it , the appearance is totaly different, takes 2 min to do the pilllows and ten for the duvet. Its a beautiful luxury material and it looks great. Great price for an excellent product.
This duvet cover is great! I love how the bottom has a zipper instead of ties or buttons. I though the zipper would break beings is it very small and thin, but after a year of use and washes it's still holding up great, as is the fabric and color.
This is a very plain and non-fussy duvet cover, which is what I was looking for. I bought the King size for my Queen bed so that it would hang over the sides comfortably. The material is soft but was surprised it wasn't thicker. I am using 1000 thread count sheet sets to go with it and the sheet set material feels thicker and more substantial. The pillow covers are enormous and I have a hard time finding the appropriate pillows to fill it out. I have washed the duvet cover several times now and it has held up well - no discernible shrinkage or unravelling of threads, etc. But it does wrinkles easily even though I pull it out of the dryer immediately after it is done. I don't have the same problem with my sheets of a similar thread count. I am giving it a 4 stars since the material is thinner than expected and that it wrinkles so easily. Overall a good buy.
