These pillows arrived half compressed inside a heavy plastic bag. There was no odor. The advice is to allow the pillows to rest for 48 hours (I think it was 48 - I misplaced the little tag) to achieve their loft and then to fluff. I did this, and they are perfect. I'm a side sleeper, and I can punch my little mountains exactly where I want in the pillow without lifting my head. No crunching sounds of feathers. I don't think they can be beat for the price.
After seeing complaints of pillow density, I decided to follow the advice of another and order pillows a size larger than needed in order to have a fuller pillow. It worked perfectly; giving a plumper pillow than had I used the correct size. Upon arrival, I opened the box and noticed a slight odor. I promptly placed both pillows into our over-sized dryer on medium heat and left them to cycle for 20 minutes. They plumped up fully and the odor was no longer noticeable. No feathers or debri collected in the dryer vent. Future fluffs in the dryer will include a fabric sheet. They do have a "crunch" to them as they are 95% feather and only 5% down. Being that they were purchased for decor purposes and not a pillow to sleep on, the mix ratio is not a problem for us. I will be covering them with a thicker pillow cover before inserting them in our decorative pillow cases so that none of the hard feather tips poke through during fluffs.
I've had a 100% down pillow for many, many years which has seen better days and needed replacing. After losing my job in December due to the economy, I've been frugal with my spending. I decided to try non-down pillows from department stores to save some money. After buying two pillows from two different stores and then returning them because they were not comfortable, I decided to check Overstock.com. I really, really wanted another down pillow and the price at the department stores were just too expensive! When I read the ratings on this pillow and saw the fantastic price, I decided to purchase one. Lo and behold, I'm IN LOVE with this pillow!!! I purchased the Jumbo pillow as I'm a scruncher. I like a huggable pillow that I can mold to my head and body and this is THE pillow. If you are looking for a very soft, huggable pillow, this is the pillow for you. I couldn't be happier, plus I'm sleeping so much better!
The pillows were the most comfortable I have slept on in a long time. I bought them for my guest room and my guests raved about the comfort. So then I used them after they left and I love them. I will be purchasing more so my future guests may have some too....highly recommend.
I am a BIG fan of feather pillows. I have had my old ones for about 20 years now. My old pillows are worn out and one has a stinky odor about it, even after washing. So it was time for me to invest in a new pillow. Most of the pillows that I see in stores are either WAY over priced or WAY too hard. Was not sure what I was going to get when I saw this pillow on line. The pillow looks like it would be hard, it is really full of feathers. So the first night that I slept on it I was not sure it was going to work out for me. I like to squish and mold my pillow. Good news. I REALLY like this pillow! It is a firm, but squishy pillow! I really have slept better than I have in years on this pillow! I bought three of them. GREAT price for a GREAT pillow!
Have loved this thing ever since night one. I pride myself on having good pillows and this guy has risen to the top of the list. The down/feather blend makes it more comfortable than my other pillows, wherever my head hits becomes the most comfortable spot on the pillow. My head rests on this thing for 6-8 hours a day, it has been well worth the money, no regets at all with this purchase. I had a few guests visit since purchase and everytime they comment on the pillow and how much more comfortable it is than what they use at home. Definitely purchase again and have recommended to many friends already.
I have been using these pillows since May, and I love them. When my favorite, ancient down pillow finally gave up the goose...er...ghost, I went on a quest for a pillow I didn't hate. I tried four or five different pillows. Some of them down. Some down-alternative. Hated them all. The dogs, however, are enjoying those pillows.
I stumbled on these pillows and the reviews looked promising, so I took a shot on them. I am not disappointed in the least.
Everyone has their preferences, obviously, but these were perfect for me. I am a side sleeper with a bad back, lousy shoulders and neck issues, and I stack two pillows. I want something that is fairly plump but will mold to me through the night to get the right balance of gentleness on my shoulders without borking my back and neck. These did the trick for me. I don't even really have a need to fluff in the middle of the night, most nights.
I have had these about 7 months and they are holding up well. I got something insane like 8 years out of my last down pillow, and I don't expect miracles out of these. But if they last another year or so, I will feel like I got a decent deal out of it. Heck, I pretty much feel that way now. If I threw them out tomorrow, I'd buy this item again.
Nice comfy down pillows, it has made a big difference with my allergies for the better. A lot of people will tell you if you have allergies stay away from down and that is not true at all. I am severely allergic to dust/dust mites. We have memory foam bed with Hungarian down mattress topper as well as a down comforter (the best quality down you can buy) and comes straight from Budapest, Hungary and hand made and their shipping was quick, I no longer buy any other down topper or comforter from anywhere but the Hungarian company. I needed pillows asap and these ones from overstock are outstanding
This is a pillow for those of us who don't want much bulk. It had a slight chemical smell and I am sensitive so I aired it outside for 3 days before using. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that the outside cover makes it less soft and noisy. I think it is because it is stiff so the feathers don't come through, maybe after it is washed it will quiet down (no pun intended).
How anyone could give these any less than 5 stars is beyond me. These are THICK and FULL and plump and really wonderful. Yes, they have some feathers in them. They are not 100% down. I would not want 100% down Euro pillows. I need more body than that. The feathers give them body. I don't sleep on mine on a nightly basis because I bought them just for using to sit up and for decor. However I have fallen asleep on them and slept with them all night and they were very comfy. Maybe if you had really cheap thin shams the feathers MIGHT bother you, but I bought Ralph Lauren shams from Macy's and I don't feel the feathers at all. I almost did not get these because of the reviews from a couple people on here, but this is one of the best purchases I have made this year! I absolutely LOVE these pillows. They were completely plump about an hour after unpacking. Might not have even been that long. I highly recommend these pillows!
There are enough positive reviews here that I might not have written this review but I felt I needed to counter a couple of negative reviews I read. When I fist got the pillow unboxed I placed it in my dryer for about 15 minutes on air dry just to tumble it. You should do this on a regular basis with any down/feather pillow,it completely re-fluffs it. This restored the pillow from its squished state due to shipping. It also got rid of any smell that might have existed. I actually didn't smell anything from the beginning.
Also someone mentioned the "minimum 75%" down label on the pillow. I've had more expensive all down pillows from different manufacturers and this is what they all have on their labels. I believe that's a legal requirement, I don't think they can use 100% even though that's what they are. The pillows that are some combo of down and feathers must state that on the label, and in my experience they all do. As far as I can tell this pillow is 100% down.
I use down pillows exclusively because I have several bad cervical disks in my neck and can wind up with severe pain and headaches if I sleep incorrectly. I am most comfortable with firm down pillows that don't allow my head to completely sink through the pillow. After much trial and error I've found that "firm" can be defined quite differently by various manufacturers. High quality down pillows use 600 and up premium down loft. You will see less expensive down items using 500 or even 550. However down loft - 600,700,800 etc., does not determine firmness. The number refers to the size of the down clusters that the pillow uses. An 800 pillow has larger clusters than a 600. Theoretically this means that an 800 pillow would rebound more quickly to its previous shape when a load ( your head ) is removed than a 600 pillow would. Also, theoretically, the down clusters would last longer giving the pillow a longer life. I've not tested that but feel that this pillow should have a long life and many people have used lesser pillows for many years. Plus if you re-fluff it in the dryer as I do you will be amazed at how this restores it.
The firmness of the pillow is determined by the fill weight. The jumbo pillow I got has a fill weight of 28 ounces, many down pillows, even those called firm, will only have a fill weight if 18-21 ounces. Many manufacturers don't even disclose this number they just use the terms soft, firm, and extra firm. This makes it impossible to compare different pillows or even to have a good idea what you're getting leading to tedious product returns which is a problem with pillows. This pillow is an extra firm as I wanted. Comparable pillows from quality makers such as the Company Store, Down and Feather Company and others run about $200 for this level of down and fill weight. Of course some will be using a high quality and expensive thread count for the cover. That's very nice but I'm planning to sleep on mine not just look at its cover. I have pillow cases for that.
These lamps were just what I was looking for. I wanted a glass lamp with a white shade because I love the color of the light coming off of a white shade. My bed is chunky so I could not have a dainty lamp and these fit the bill perfectly. The story could end there but I will say that one of the lamps was broken at delivery because the glass even though they were packed really really well. Overstock customer service was top-notch and had new lamps to me in no time flat. In a world where there or 1000 places to shop online I continue to shop at overstock due to the selection and definitely the customer service.
Very solid, nicely stuffed and heavy! I got the 28" for my 27" covers the fit perfectly. You can shape and form them any way you want and they stay in place...perfect for "dog ears". They look just like the picture...yes, they are absolutely stuffed full of feathers! I'm getting a couple more.
Very satisfied with this purchase. I tried to find something cheaper - actually bought and returned about 6 pillows from Overstock and wasted a lot of money on return fees - but the cheaper options were not satisfactory for a variety of reasons. I am a side sleeper and need a pillow that is fluffy but goes fairly flat -- does not hold my head up at an unnatural angle. I have been sleeping on this pillow for a couple of weeks now and it's great. There was another one that was good too but it was even more expensive. This pillow is very fluffy but goes down to just the right height.
I have a bit of a bedding addiction. I am constantly buying duvets, pillows, covers, sheets. I seek nothing less than perfection in my night's sleep. Even my SO and friends have commented on how fabulous my bed is. And the highlight of my bed is easily these pillows. They're wonderfully soft--the only reason to buy down, in my opinion--yet they offer a startling amount of support. I've purchased (many) other down pillows in the past (in fact, I used to buy two pillows every year or two--again, addiction), but my quest for the perfect pillow has ended. This is the holy grail.
I bought two of these pillows, not really sure what to expect, as they are not 100% down, however they are great pillows. Super firm, but molded nicely to my comfort level after about a week. Not to say they flatten at all. You can tell however that they are not pure down. They certainly make a nice addition to the other pillows on my bed.
At first I was disappointed because when I got it, it read only 95 percent down, but I decided I would try it anyhow. So after a few weeks I think it is pretty good. It's very soft but puffs right back up to its shape after you lift your head off. It's not the best pillow I've had but for the price I think it's very good. It's cuddly soft, if that makes sense to you. Well made.
This is REALLY firm. I like a firm pillow but this is so firm it may not move much when you are trying to get comfortable. I could see really loving this pillow in six months or so. I guess slightly less firm would have been good because, as I said, it's almost hard it's so firm.
Finally, a firm down pillow! I have searched for a long time for this one. Even made a purchase with another famous manufacturer for a firm pillow that was not firm. I gave it to my husband. The key for purchasing a down pillow is the number of OUNCES in a pillow NOT the fill. Many manufacturers don't even tell you the number of ounces in their pillows. I am so pleased with my purchase .....I even bought another one as a spare. 😊
A good pillow, but look twice when you order if you think you are buying a PAIR of pillows. You'll only get one.
It comes tightly packed in a cardboard box so when you slit open the box with a utility knife you will also slit open the pillow.
But that lets you see that the pillow is indeed filled with really nice feathers. In fact, filled so full of really nice feathers that it will bend your neck in a ninety degree angle when you rest your head on it.
Aside from those details, it is a really nice pillow.
THESE ARE BELLA LUX BRAND PILLOWS! (It's a very high-end luxury brand, marketed to the very wealthy). If you can find a better pillow than this, buy it. I would have given these a hundred trillion star rating if I could:) I discovered these @ TJ Maxx a year ago, labeled "Bella Lux" brand. There were 6 in the store. I bought 4, figuring I'd go back & pick up the remaining 2, if I really loved them. I went back the next day to buy them, & to my dismay, they were long gone. For the entire year since, I've been sleeping in total, indulgent luxury, and searching for more of these pillows, to replace some of my other down/feather pillows. (Some are too flat, others are too heavy/lumpy/hard). This is the absolute PERFECT amount of down fill. Well, as perfect as can be, because really, "perfect" is based on individual's opinions- There will always be some people who think there's not enough fill, and others who think there's too much fill, etc. I've owned down & feather pillows for 20 years- I've paid $200 / pillow. None come close to this pillow's quality- I've owned this exact pillow, & slept on it nightly, for a full year. It's the absolute, ultimate perfect pillow! I always get Queen size, because I like to align it sideways with my head/neck/torso, & scrunch it up to sleep on. Sometimes, I'm so exhausted I fall asleep on my back, & I wake up the next am. with this cloud-like cradling sensation of my head & neck. I just purchased & rc'd 4 more of these from overstock- They are perfect perfect perfect! I'm going to buy 2 more, to save for my daughter to take to college with her. Definitely make sure you purchase zippered covers for them- It might not seem like you need them up-front, but 5-10 years from now, you'll be very glad that you've kept these treasures covered. I take the covers off to launder monthly. Oh, and by the way- When people are complaining that the tiny feathers are escaping the cotton fabric, that's a GOOD thing- It means the down clusters are so incredibly tiny (high loft), that even a solid sheeting of cotton doesn't contain them completely. And, we're not talking about any amount of down leakage beyond .0001 % of the fill. It's inconsequential, except that it's the indicator of a VERY high quality fill. The cotton fabric is a very high thread count (= nothing much to get between your head & the pillow! Makes for a very soft pillow). And, the edges of this pillow are also very well-constructed- Flat edged, double-fine stitched. I can't say enough about these magnificent pillows. Gazillionaires pay $2,000+ / pillow! They are getting a pillow that is roughly equivalent to this one. Live like you are mad-wealthy. Buy a few of these luxury pillows, & let o.co know that these pillows are in continual demand! Thanks for reading my pillow novel. Sleep well :)
Bought these pillows in a never-ending search for more comfortable sleep! These pillows
were just the opposite of what I usually try, which is firm foam. This was not working, so
tried squishy down pillows which were at a hotel we stayed at. Loved them! Both the ones at the hotel
and the ones I purchased from Overstock.com! I can mash them into whatever shape I need and they rebound again.
Excellent price by my comparison shopping.

Down pillows are wonderful
I love down pillows and especially ones that do not poke through with feathers. These have been very good with no poking!
These pillows are the perfect softness for me! No pokey feathers, just lovely soft down.
Too Plump for Me
This pillow was very soft with fine down feathers. However, it was stuffed a little to plump for my liking.
I use these for all my client's pillows, no matter what size, I get these down/feather inserts!
