I purchased this comforter because I’m allergic to down feathers AND I hate that feathers always stick out and scratch me. This comforter has lasted me a few years now and gone through multiple washings holding up very well. The alternative down does NOT shift and make the comforter lumpy like down feather comforters do. Buy this!!!
When I bought this featherbed topper, I was only thinking of European chalets and being as comfortable as Heidi. Sadly, I was not thinking of scratchy down feathers. It is acceptable, but perhaps faux down would be a better choice. I am poked all night.
I have been happy with down and primaloft comforters purchased from Overstock but decided after reading the reviews to try this wool-filled one. It is a great purchase for the price--good quality, attractive on the bed, lying flatter and neater than the puffier alternatives. My husband loves the comforter, says he prefers the warmth and heavier weight of the wool. We live with colder winter temperatures in the Rockies, but as we have some heat in our bedroom, I find that I still prefer the lighter primaloft. I don't know whether it will shrink or not (hoping to wash on cold and hang dry). I bought the king size for a queen bed with extra deep mattress, as queens are often a bit skimpy, but the king runs large and hangs down almost too far on the sides of our bed, covering at least half the dust ruffle.
