I was skeptical because there were no reviews when I bought this topper, but I am so glad I did!! My foam mattress was very firm and only 8 inches deep so it looked strange on my bedframe. I was looking for something to add depth and make my bed a little softer. This topper is heaven. It is perfect for those that like the firmness of a foam mattress with the plushness of a pillowtop. However, it can be a little warm. It is not a problem for me, because I am naturally cold blooded, but even I have noticed it being somewhat hot especially on hot summer nights in Texas.

Decent Night's Sleep
Our 9 year old memory foam pillow top mattress had lost all it's "memory" some time ago and I had been searching for other mattresses to replace our old one. We have a king sized bed and finding a replacement 21" decent quality mattress that we could afford and feel comfortable sleeping in, was sending my blood pressure through the roof! I finally decided to look into a topper, but did not want a regular memory foam because of the problem everyone complains about, trapped body heat. So I found this "gel" memory foam that is supposed to draw the body heat away while you sleep and after reading all the reviews I decided to get it. The price was right, and at least for the next 4 -5 yrs. we wouldn't have to spend $2700 - $3200 for a replacement mattress! The mattress is somewhat on the firm side but still conforms to your body. So if you're looking for a much softer memory foam, this one is not it. However, it does afford a comfortable night's sleep which makes us happy. As for the "trapped body heat" issue, we'll find out this coming summer if this gel foam mattress actually does draw the body heat away as the company claims. The mattress does come tightly rolled and packaged in plastic. When taken out of the box, remove from the plastic wrap and let extend out to its fullest. You will notice that it seems to small and not completely "square", but that's only because it needs to fully extend. Ours was fully extended out within an hr. Please note that you should leave it out in either fresh air or under a fan for several hours for the foam to air out as it does have an odor, nothing extreme, but I would not recommend sleeping on it until odor is fully dissipated.

I ordered this for a 2nd bed. Both are wonderful quality. Sleeping on 4 inches of gel memory foam is heavenly! The waterproof cover is exceptional hotel-quality. Well worth the price and more.

We absolutely love this mattress topper. Have had it over a year and it’s great. It never feels warm and we are so used to it it’s hard to sleep anywhere else.

"I need help. I recently purchased an extra firm Beautyrest mattress after having my 3rd back surgery and going through a tempurpedic purchase nightmare (still have it, just can't sleep on it). To be honest I purchased the Beautyrest while recovering (I know) because I needed something!! My previous (before temper) 12 year old mattress was a sealy latex/memory foam hybrid, which I had regretted not going one level firmer pretty much from the start. This one is just too firm and I now regret not going with the tight top (may still have this problem). I am fine on my back and fully aligned which is so nice. The problem is that I am a side sleeper and the pressure on my hips and shoulders is almost unbearable. I know that it will break in but it is still going to end up too hard, but with perfect support. I have placed a cheap almost paper thin (Walmart) topper we had in the camper under a folded in half extra thick quilt. This has made it bearable and I can get through for a few days. I have had so many stumbles that I'm just hoping to get this right. Understanding that there is no one size fits all, how do I decide how thick of a topper to get? I want to be more comfortable but not lose the support of the mattress. I would also want a cooler option than pure memory foam. Thank you for any advice you can offer. "

I too had 3 back surgeries and the last one was it for me! I purchased a new bed right before the last surgery and purchased this gel topper 4 inch and its like heaven I have nothing but good things to say. I wake up well rested the only bad thing about it is if you typically lie in bed and watch tv you will fall asleep it is that comfortable. On a scale from 1-10 I give it a 15!
