I am always on the lookout for a washable wool blanket. I try to dry clean as little as possible. This blanket is now my 3rd. It is warm enough for winter and it could stay on the bed for summer if you want to layer. The outlast fabric is what keeps it in shape, I have had no pilling to speak of, and it washes up great. I do tumble it on very low heat and then hang it just to be safe, but it is a great little blanket.
We replaced a wonderful, very soft merino wool blanket but after 5-6 years of use, it was pilling and shedding. The Pendleton weave is tighter with little or no loose wool fibers, also lightweight, very warm and comfortable for sleeping. The instructions note "warm before using, line dry" -- yes but we found that the blanket can be dried on very low heat. It just will take a while.
