Here in Central Texas, you need a variety of blankets, eventhough we don't have traditional 'seasons'; AND you need to be able to access them quickly. You essentially need "HEAVY" , "MEDIUM", and "LIGHT" weights...and colors are a personal choice thing. Our "LIGHT" weight blanket was just worn on and I could not find one locally; but Overstock.com had just the ticket. Way to go!!!!!!!
This was a beautiful soft blanket, but was a solid weave rather than the traditional open weave of cotton blankets. It would be much warmer than an open weave blanket. It was too hot for me.
This blanket has a nice smooth and soft finish. Measurements are accurate. Color is as pictured. It's a thin blanket, so if you're looking for something thick, this is probably not a good choice. Regardless of its thinness, it seems durable. It has a very slight stretch-ability to it, but still holds its form and shape when thrown onto the bed as a bedspread.
The flat cotton weave makes this more like a bedspread than a traditional fuzzy blanket -- and I might use it like a bedspread sometimes. It was just warm enough last night in Florida; if the weather gets colder, I'll put a fuzzy blanket underneath this one. I bought the full/queen size for my full bed. The blanket is almost as wide as my top sheet. There won't be as much overhang on a queen bed. You might prefer this blanket in king size on a queen bed.
