Purchased this based on the reviews that it was warm, made in the U.S and actually large enough to fit a King sized bed properly. It does look beautiful and it is soft but that sloshing around mentioned by another reviewer is really an issue when making the bed and trying to get this blanket smooth. After my first night with this blanket I did want to return it. It took some time to get warm and toasty under it compared to the fake mink blanket I had on the bed but much of the night I kept waking up feeling clammy and sweaty. I've not experience that feeling with other blankets which is I why I suspect this fabric doesn't breathe. I'm also a bit irritated to log into Ovestock today and see it on special for *** when I just paid *** last week for the king size. The positives of this blanket are that we bought the king sized and it is actually large enough to cover a thick memory foam king sized bed properly which is hard to find. I will just run a stitch around the outside edge with the sewing machine to solve the sloshing issue. Overall thought if return shipping *** weren't prohibitive I would have returned this and went for something cotton or flannel. Also noting if you have New England winters you will need more than just this on the bed but it seems like a nice blanket otherwise, it's just not what I was hoping for.
This flannel blanket is much softer than I expected it to be. I'm very picky with how my blankets feel, and this one does not disappoint. The blanket is as soft as many of my other flannel blankets I have. The blanket is thin. It reminds me of a blanket to use in the spring and fall where it's slightly warmer. I bought the medium size blanket. It fits almost for two people really well. There is several inches hanging over the edge on both sides. I like curling up in this blanket when I'm reading or using it as a cover or extra blanket on the bed at night. In the winter, for me, the blanket doesn't keep in enough heat to use as the only blanket on my bed. The navy blue color is similar to what is pictured. The color though makes my cat's fur abit noticeable on the blanket when they shed. The blanket is easy to wash. I use fabric softener with it to keep the blanket soft. I've had it on tumble dry low with no problems. The thread on the edges is smooth. I've had blankets in the past where the thread is too thick or noticeable on the blanket, and I'd feel the thread rubbing on my skin when I was trying to sleep. This blanket didn't have that problem. Pros: - Easy to wash - Nice color - Very soft Cons: - None
I purchased the king size since my bed has a very thick mattress and queen size never leaves enough to tuck in. The blanket is significantly larger than the size indicated and we have LOTS to tuck under. The only problems is that the sheets "stick" to the blanket (not static) making it hard to smooth everything out when making up the bed.
