This is a very pretty bedspread and well made. I purchased it in Ivory for my Cal-King bed, which is four inches narrower and four inches longer than a standard king. As with ALL bedspreads and comforters nowadays, the manufacturer didn't make it long enough to touch the floors on either side or the end. It is about 6-7 inches above the floor on all sides, and I don't have a particularly thick mattress and my bed is on a standard bed frame. There is enough to "wrap" the pillows, which is what I wanted. Still, I just left my dust ruffle in place and it serves more as an oversized quilt. If you want a true bedspread that touches the floor, be sure to measure your bed and purchase the size that will fit. Update: I needed to wash the bedspread. Based on the reviews about shrinkage, I washed the spread in cold water and dried it on "air dry" with no heat. There was still significant shrinkage so that now the bedspread is more like a coverlet and doesn't fully cover my 20" deep mattress. I still love the bedspread, but I can't imagine what bedspread they use in the photo that actually touches the floor because mine never did, even before I washed it.
This a medium weight bedspread that is machine washable. I had some difficulty getting in dry in a home dryer, but didn't want to risk it shrinking by going to a commercial dryer. It can be dry cleaned, but I prefer to wash it. It's a pretty pattern.
Love this comfy, cozy bedspread. Takes me back to my childhood snuggling in Mom and Dad's bed. Good quality. Fluffs up quite a bit when washed and dried. Remember to change lint trap often while drying!
The bedspread arrived yesterday. I ordered the ivory in the king size. The ivory was darker than I expected, but it would work. I washed it in cold water and then put it into the dryer. Every 20 minutes or so, I cleaned the lint screen as I knew it would shed. I removed it from the dryer while it was slightly damp and then folded it in half and let it air dry. Today, I put it on the bed and it is gorgeous. It is very generous and covers the bed and boxspring which measures 23 inches, plus another 10 inches of leg. I understand the cotton chenille will continue to shed somewhat, but I also understand, it won't be forever. This chenille bedspread is the best I have seen for years. And it makes my king sized sleigh bed beautiful. By the way, washing it in cold water and drying it on medium and taking it out early, it did not shrink one bit.
